As a Chemical and Gas Engineer at Micron Fab 10W, you will report to Manager and will join an existing team of engineers responsible for Chemical/Slurry, Gas and Chemical Waste systems projects, maintenance and operations. You will be working with in-house vendor to manage Chemical/Slurry, Gas systems and Chemical Waste Systems.

You will be responsible to provide high quality engineering services for planning, design, construction, operation, and maintenance of the systems in support of semiconductor manufacturing. You will conduct capacity and scenario planning and evaluate impact of changes. In this role, you will work within Facilities Teams, and with Manufacturing through all phases of design, construction, installation, start-up, operations and maintenance and will ensure environmental, safety, regulatory, and code compliance.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute preventive and corrective maintenance activities for chemical, slurry and gas systems including chemical waste collection systems to ensure maximum equipment uptime and reliability.
  • Manage on-site Total Chemical and Gas Management (TCGM) for operation, maintenance, quality and safety.
  • Respond to issue and perform troubleshooting with on-site TCGM team and contractors.
  • Work with Manufacturing and Quality teams on excursion root cause identification, elimination and prevention.
  • Track system capacity to meet Manufacturing requirement.
  • Initiate, evaluate, plan, design and supervise improvement/upgrading/new projects for chemical/slurry, gas and chemical waste system.
  • Identify/implement new technologies for chemical, slurry and gas systems for process breakthrough.
  • Carry out cost estimates, analysis, cost and schedule estimates as well as justification of proposed projects.
  • Responsible for maintaining various administrative and engineering database in support of job tracking, engineering data, and costing.
  • Provide support for new chemical and gas evaluations.
  • Plan and execute specialty gas system release/unhooking.
  • Review and improve Operation and Maintenance Standard Operating Procedure and Risk Assessment.
  • Support EHS and PSM operations with regards to chemical, slurry and gas management/operations/storage/maintenance works.
  • Carry out FMEAs (Failure Model and Effect Analysis), eliminate single points of failure and mitigate risks.
  • Analyze systems to identify improvements that will result in better performance, efficiency gains, reduced maintenance, and cost savings.
  • Work with Quality department to ensure the quality of chemicals, slurries and spec gas.    
  • Be aware of and perform all works in accordance with company safety guidelines.
  • Benchmark with other Micron sites on operational, procedural, engineering, and design BKM of Facilities buildings and systems.
  • Site representative to support corporate requests and assignments.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering or related discipline or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • Relevant working experience in Ultra High Purity Chemical and Gas, Slurry systems is preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Fluent computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Self-motivated worker
  • Possess good team working and multi-tasking capabilities
