Job Description:

As Sr. Statistician, you are responsible for analyzing and managing data to help engineering validation/commonality study/yield/quality/mfg efficiency improvement from statistical perspective using JMP, Minitab tools as required. Implement analytical solutions using the techniques such as Predictive statistical modeling to evaluate and improve internal tools and processes.  Adapt statistical methods according to business problems. Develop and test experimental designs, sampling techniques, and analytical methods.

 

Major Responsibilities

Support data collection, analysis and interpretation needs of projects and activities

Use state of the art engineering and statistical tools for experiment design and data/problem analysis/quality/yield improvement, as well as mfg efficiency improvement such as smart sampling plan

Identify opportunities for improvements, then direct investigations to implement successful solutions

Provide support to the production teams via Statistic knowledge transfer and coaching

Review Sampling plans for relevancy and modify as appropriate

Initiating and/or updating process control charts as necessary

Provides statistical methodology support in the delivery of standard and custom studies.

Apply statistical design and methodology to meet client information needs, conducts statistical--analyses to derive conclusions from the study and assists in preparing written summaries of study results.

Works as part of a team in preparing analysis plans and statistical reports and performs validation of statistical analysis.

 

Qualifications

Advanced degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering).

4+ years of directly relevant, tech industry work experience (e.g., as a statistician, or data scientist), with deep expertise in statistical data analysis, such as linear models, multivariate analysis, and sampling methods

Applied experience with machine learning on large datasets. Familiar with deep learning algorithms is a plus

Experience with statistical software (e.g. JMP, Minitab) and database languages (e.g., SQL)

Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and effectively with people at all levels in an organization

Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively, both verbally and in writing, in English
