Sr. Engineer, MXA Cost & Automation

Job Description

As Sr. Engineer of Cost and Automation in MXA, you will drive strategic and tactical projects initiatives to deliver successful cost reduction efforts and join automation related project for MXA. You will ensure a timely and effective communication and escalation at various levels of leadership as required. As the owner of site cost program, this role requires a keen sense of ownership, flexibility and ability to coordinate between site and network, willingness of flexible working hours, good communication and presentation skills, and organized qualitative data driven program management. Also, as the engineer of MXA automation team, you will join the MXA automation project, include requirement collection & design and deployment process. Lead or participate site automation projects.


Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Cost:
    • Lead (regular & ad-hoc) Cost Meeting Forums with various stakeholders (including leadership) to track and communicate status of projects and programs.
    • Collaborate with A&T (Assembly & Test) network Cost teams on cost performance reporting, improvement identification to effectively share and implement Cost Reduction opportunities.
    • Initiate and collaborate with multifunctional team/ cross functional team for MXA cost opportunities and projects identification, Learn and deploy BIC cost management/improvement methodology (tools/system) to site cost team, e.g. clean sheet, lean methodology…
    • Track Action Items / Initiatives Towards Closure and ensure MXA functional partners to document cost reduction project in system timely.
    • work with Finance team to understand monthly close, why over or under spend, and drive cost center owner to find project to close the gap or better plan in next budget cycle.
    • Drive Best-Known-Methods (BKM) based project sharing across sites and share BKM from A&T cost team and network through related system and forum.
  • Automation
    • Develop, maintain, and improve the existing and future automation system, include software system and hardware tools.
    • Initiate proactive and continuous improvement projects in areas across the factory including manufacturing methods and processes, quality, software systems, layout, tool design and capability, cycle time, key tool metrics (availability, utilization, and performance efficiency), maintenance and routine tasks, and other manufacturing support operation.
    • Design and coordinate automation projects with internal and external team.

 

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree and above.
  • Major in but not limit to Engineering.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Manufacturing, Engineering, Automation, project management or other related work experience

 

Requirements

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, approachability, responsiveness, ability to work easily within and outside a team, strong collaboration skills, and good interpersonal skills
  • Strong data driven mentality for decision making. The ability to illustrate options that enable lowest cost of operation.
  • Knowledge and practical application of statistics, data analysis and problem solving.
  • The willingness to work flexible hours and travel as required
  • The ability to work closely with others in a team environment
  • Systems knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint, Outlook, Project, Visio, Access), Advanced data skills on visualization software such as Tableau
  • Ability to lead and participate in cross-area teams, with proven ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally.
  • Divergent and creative thinking mindset to analysis the requirement and project function or BKM.   
  • Knowledge of data structures of software systems such as MES systems and other common system.
