Job Description:

As Back End Operations Improvement (OI) Manager, you will be responsible for driving internal and external customer requirements related to manufacturing optimization, equipment efficiency, and factory level dispatch and scheduling while maintaining global alignment in data, tools, and reporting. You will work in conjunction with the BE Automation team’s effort to move data and physical processes to automated platforms. You will support efforts in change control and system integration as OI and Automation solutions progress. You will develop and maintain the team’s training and documentation profiles.



1. Lead, drive, and sustain BE OI Systems Conversion Projects. Delivering results by encouraging teamwork and setting priorities.

2. Recruit, develop, and establish a sustainable OI organization within Site. Build trust-based relationships within the team and across organizations. Coaching and mentoring team members to reach their goals and potential.

3. Balancing workload across the different team members to ensure each engineer is working on value added activities in line with site and company goals 

4. Support daily area dispatching/scheduling, automation, and reporting alignment activities. Ensure balance between area optimization and line balance (for current/future bottleneck capacity expansion).

5. Create, document and support business processes for changes related to line/area optimization

6. Apply Industrial Engineering concepts to capacity analysis, line management, scheduling and production planning.

7. Develop, maintain, and improve dispatching/scheduling and business rules to continuously improve the Back End Manufacturing Efficiency. 

8. Participate in the creation, maintenance, improvement, and training of: software, reports, and metrics used by Back End Production and Engineering. 

9. Benchmark Back End performance against Micron and other world class Back End companies. 

10. Communicate with other Back End and departments to ensure that BKMs are shared and that the OI group has a strong partnership with other teams.

11. Provide periodic department updates to review current status and future goals and objectives.

• Communicating customer expectations to the organization. 


Project Management:

• Driving a culture of project management within the department. 

• Prioritizing & approving projects to align with Site's areas of focus. 

• Managing, measuring and monitoring projects to ensure deliverables and time frames are met. 

• Providing project resources and remove barriers. 



1. Master’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Engineering Management, Operations Research, Management Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or Bachelor of Science in a related technical field with 5 years’ experience or related field experience with 10 years’ experience with strong knowledge and interest in Industrial Engineering related fields.

2. In depth technical understanding, especially of Industrial Engineering and scheduling/automation concepts. Good knowledge in inventory management, simulation, optimization, modeling, forecasting, automation, statistics, data mining, and database management. 

3. Ability to lead and participate in cross-area teams, with proven ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally.

4. Demonstrate strong project management, software development methodology, & organizational skills.

5. Intermediate to advance understanding of Supply Chain Master Data Management principles and practices.

6. Knowledge of data structures of software systems such as SAP systems and manufacturing planning and execution system

7. Familiar with Micron Back End Applications: CSM, MAM, MAM Recipe, ETI, ToolView, MICAP, CSM etc. 

8. Proficient in Microsoft Office and applications including SharePoint, ASP.NET, C#, VB/VBA, RTD, CSS, SQL, etc.
