Job Description – Director, Component Test Engineering:

As a Component Test Director at the Back End manufacturing site of Micron Technology, Inc., you will be responsible for managing the business objectives for Test Engineering department. You will formulate engineering strategies and work with various department to execute projects to drive safety, quality, cost, cycle time, yield, automation and workstation utilization improvement. You will be responsible for ensuring legal, fiscal, safety and ethical compliance with regulatory requirements. You will also collaborate to develop and execute strategic plans in order to make sound business decisions. Your role will require you to develop and manage organizational capability: manage and plan organizational resources, communicate job expectations and changes, manage employee performance, and promote teamwork. Your job scope will not only cover site engineering but also network related support and collaboration.   

 Responsibilities include, but not limited, to the followings: 

  • Establish Test Engineering performance metrics and successful indicator, and build process to ensure the entire team on the right tract to target
  • Participate in global, site and department strategy planning
  • Define Test Engineering long term strategic plan which include new product roadmap, new test strategy, innovation, yield improvement, better quality control, cost reduction and bring site to BIC
  • Develop leadership and talent to ensure a successful pipeline
  • Retain and reward talent and effectively deploy them to maximize every individual's potential
  • To be the role model that values and instills a strong company culture, must place emphasis on strategic management of group morale, and develop collaborative and integrated atmosphere, and creates an environment considered a workplace of choice
  • Respond to internal and external customers issues with excellence in customer service
  • Collaborate with backend manufacturing central team, sister sites and external groups to support Micron's overall needs and objectives
  • Adhere to all safety requirements and promote a safety workplace for every team members and contractors
  • Instill a continuous improvement culture and focus on labor productivity improvement

 Requirements:

  • A minimum of 8 years’ experience in managerial positions,
  • Strong leadership in managing a team to achieve organization goals
  • Excellent communication and influence skill to cross teams
  • Good analytical skill with acute common sense
  • Must be regarded as a mentor, team builder and motivator
  • Must be seen by peers and directs as a leader in embracing Micron's behaviors
  • Must possess a thorough knowledge of self-strengths and areas for improvement and be open to regular, direct feedback to address areas for improvement
  • Experience in multiple engineering and production disciplines is preferred
  • Extensive work in product or test engineering is preferred
