Non-Volatile Engineering Managed NAND Development Product Manager

Focus of this role is the Managed NAND integration. The Development Product Manager will be responsible for leading Managed NAND integration (internal development and turnkey solutions), involving department (FW development, Product Validation…), and/or cross-functional teams (eMMC PE, NAND PE, BU Marketing …), and/or external supplier of subject matter experts, following products development through the design process to completion (product qualification).

 

Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Identification of project stakeholders and set-up of communication channels
    • Identify reference NVEG Architects, NAND PE, MN PE, Validation, FW Dev, Verification, Media Enablement, System Analysis, SQRA, interfaces
    • Install a periodic tech meeting (PDT meeting, Tech leaders meeting...)
  • Project plan definition and assessment towards BU
    • Support development stakeholders in sub-plan definition and assessment (e.g. FW dev workbook, validation plan content and cycle time, system analysis target platforms and objectives, Media enablement targets and pass/fail criteria, pre-qual and system qualification plan, electrical characterization plan…)
    • Collect inputs from all the stakeholders supporting development and integrate them in MN project plan
    • Manage handshake between NVEG Architects and NVEG MN Design team when moving from Concept Approval to POR. Target is no unresolved items in Design
    • Define checkpoints for NAND enablement measurements between MAG team and Media Enablement
    • POR definition and SG2 assessment, deploying development plan towards BU and collecting relevant records
    • Coordinate development and review of documentation for Managed NAND’s statement of work (SOW)
  • Deploy project plan and monitor the execution (internally to the development team)
    • Daily sync with Dev team to follow up activities and set priorities
    • Weekly review of validation plan and results with PV, SCG
    • System Analysis plan definition and results analysis
    • Media Enablement measurements definition and results analysis (e.g. Power Loss Judgement, Error Handling algorithm effectiveness…)
    • Weekly review of Product Verification pre-qual and qual results (weekly meeting with PVer and SQRA to review results, address opens, collect design for testability requirements, review and update qualification plan…)
  • Deploy project plan and monitor the execution (dependencies external to the development team)
    • uC development, validation and qualification plan follow up with uC supplier
    • Integrate uC validation with MN electrical char
    • Participate in NAND PE specific meetings (NAND PDT, Component qual…) to sort out information relevant to MN development project and highlights road blocks for MN development
    • Weekly NAND – MN sync on issues at component and MN level
  • Control and monitor Project Scope, Time, Metrics and Risk
    • Development KPI update and assessment
    • Periodical review of project status, risk and scope in BU Core meetings
    • Review metrics of each development team and work out project metrics starting from them
  • Set-up and drive Design Reviews across project life (Development milestones)
    • Collect material
    • Consolidate checklist
    • Document meetings and follow up (if needed)
  • Change Management and inject change into program plan (requires a direct link with the TRD process)
  • Communicate weekly development program update/changes to stakeholder (e.g. Deep Dive Meeting)
  • Manage project documentation in SharePoint, Confluence and Jira (Program Management repository in SharePoint with updated information accessible to development team, Project Gantt, PDT meeting minutes and material in Confluence, deploy and check Jira projects usage, development metrics evolution, Change management Jira project…)
  • Support BU’s Product Marketing requests and priority (tactical priorities)
  • Facilitate design priorities review discussions (e.g. help the FW design team to split the development of a complex feature across the different iterations, keeping in mind the final target date/content for sampling)
  • Support HW/tools (NAND BGA, eMMC parts, L-boards/daughter board, uC engineering wafers, FW releases) availability plan needed for development and validation (logistic development-oriented across a complex organization)
  • Recording and managing project issues and escalating where necessary
  • Identifying user training needs (help in creating an ecosystem of competencies around the development team and in BU)
  • Facilitate communication and interaction between stakeholders
  • Facilitate lessons learned analysis and deployment into the next development. To have in place an effective post-mortem practice
  • Coordinate Design/FW Dev/NAND PE effort to support PVer and SQRA in RMAs and Customer qual issue resolution

 

Education

Required: Master Degree in Electronics, Physics, Computer engineering, Management engineering                           

Desired: Phd in Electronics, Physics, Computer engineering                         

                               

 

Experience

Desired: 1 year experience in any of the following:

  • Engineering               
  • Programming
