Job Description

As a Field Applications Engineer (FAE) focusing on Cloud ODM and Channel customers at Micron and located near Micron’s key customers, you will serve as a primary technical contact in the field for those customers and various departments within Micron. Developing deep technical relationships with key OEM, enterprise, and channel customers. You will provide technical expertise and value on memory/storage products to customers who integrate Micron products with their own, actively work with sales and internal engineering teams to identify, develop, win, and execute new and existing business opportunities. You will also develop and build strong technical relationships with customer engineering and development teams to identify new opportunities, obtain design wins, ensure smooth qualifications, and solve technical problems.


Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Virtual account team partnership
  • Partner with Channel Team to develop short and long-term sales strategy.
  • Align sales team with Micron global and business unit strategic initiatives.
  • Ambitious with the ability to work independently as well as collaborate across multiple disciplines, geographies, and cultures.
  • Customer technical engagement
  • Develop deep technical relationships across assigned customers working towards trusted advisor status.
  • Deeply understand the business and technical requirements of assigned customers and their focus end customers.
  • Ability to provide server/cloud system level support, such as schematic/layout review to customer’s early platform design.
  • Provide Training to Customers, Sales, and internal team members on key technical topics.
  • Working with customers to determine the best memory footprint and best system configuration for the specific target application in the Cloud space.
  • Understand and influence customer strategy and roadmaps.
  • Working to attain design ins and qualifications of Micron memory and storage products in customer applications. Understanding the detail of qualification flow, review and possibly fine-tuning the qualification process with engineering team at customer side.
  • Working with and driving internal marketing and development teams to determine the feasibility of specific new products, packaging or features and ensuring customer specifications are met.
  • Identifying and communicating the needed customer focused collateral (e.g., product guides, cross-references, advertisements, etc.).
  • Providing internal strategic direction for customer systems applications and quality related objectives through collaboration with global field support teams.



  • Proven ability to understand and explain varied solutions from across a broad technology ecosystem.
  • Design, product, test, system or applications engineering experience in Server system design and/or DRAM/Storage applications in the server system applications. (at least 7 years of experience)
  • Systems experience, which could include:
  1. Server Systems hardware architecture, design, test and troubleshooting
  2. DRAM Memory usage in Server/Cloud systems
  3. Data Center Server Management
  • Ability to demonstrate problem solving and troubleshooting skills including lab testing (oscilloscope and logic analyzer usage) and debug
  • Excellent verbal, written, and customer communications skills
  • The ability to be self-motivated, take initiative, and to work independently or in a team environment.
  • The ability to work with engineers across multiple disciplines, as well as customers of various positions including executive level interaction.



  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
