Manager, Facilities Program Management

As a Sr. Program Manager at Micron Technology, Inc., you will be supporting the overall consistency and effectiveness of the the Indirect Facilities Procurement portfolio. You will support Facilities Procurement team in driving cost savings program, organizational alignment and category performance, and overall change management that will pave the way for achieving Micron objectives now and in the future. Your primary goal is to realize Facilities Procurement program and project objectives, which require the advanced application of project and process management concepts. This includes planning, organizing, leading, executing, reporting, and controlling activities to deliver expected value. 



Govern, Create, and Manage Programs and Projects 

  • Ensure alignment of program metrics with related programs inside the organization, as well as with those of stakeholder organizations
  • Develop key indicators and goals to support program and Area of Focus
  • Provide accountability for overall execution of assigned program and keep Program Sponsor informed of program status
  • Hold project managers accountable for the definition, execution, and reporting of assigned projects within program
  • Ensure Program has clear definition and objectives stated
  • Develop Program scope definition and obtain sponsor approval  

Execute, Monitor/Control, and Close Programs  

  • Ensure that project managers and project sponsors use available systems and guidelines to control and track projects
  • Provide the Facilities Procurement team and other stakeholders with updates on the progress and status of assigned program
  • Work with project teams to ensure the project status is accurate and up to date 

Maintain Program Health  

  • Manage and develop Indirect / Facilities program (or category specific) workshops
  • Help the project teams uncover and document potential risks and issues
  • Identify program project resource constraints and work with Program sponsors and stakeholders for resolution
  • Capture and facilitate “next steps” for off-cycle projects
  • Define and evolve the practices used to make changes to active projects
  • Define and evolve the practices to validate and close out active projects
  • Communicate program expectations to team members and stakeholder

Improve Program Management Business Processes and Tools 

  • Define and evolve methods for data entry of projects and programs including appropriate approvals from functional area managers, project owners, activity owners, and program stakeholders
  • Evaluate the state of the organization and adjust methods to continuously grow and advance the maturity of the organization’s Program Management culture
  • Develop and evolve reporting requirements and solutions that meet the needs of the program and project audience in a manner that clearly communicate critical aspects of the project or program
  • Apply experiences and lessons from system to refine and improve methods
  • Determine and evolve how performance will be calculated and tracked for active projects and programs

Foster and Train Program Management Business Processes 

  • Align and communicate terminology to be used across projects and programs
  • Ensure alignment of program/project management business processes
  • Coach, mentor, motivate, supervise, and provide recognition to program team members
  • Maintain program support through interaction with senior leaders
  • Promote Program Management value and business practices to the organization

Lead or Assist with Project Management  

  • Serve as a Project Manager or individual contributor for organizational initiatives
  • Contribute through business systems, business process, and market intelligence expertise
  • Initiate and plan projects
  • Execute, monitor, and close projects
  • Coordinate project teams
  • Communicate project status to stakeholders
  • Represent Procurement for company initiatives and merger / acquisition activity

Provide Business and Data Analysis Support 

  • Research and analyze data
  • Create and manage Procurement data and reporting environment
  • Develop and manage organizational processes and information systems
  • Provide industry and market intelligence to support Indirect procurement teams


Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience 

  • Business Administration/Management
  • Computer Science/Information Systems
  • Engineering – Industrial, Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical
  • Finance or Accounting
  • Production and Operations Management (POM)
  • Project Management
  • Related field of study




  • Facilities project management or construction controls 
  • PMP certification is a plus!
  • Agile Scrum Master
