Micron’s Taiwan sites include sales and technical support in Taipei along with state-of-the-art fabrication facilities in Taichung and Taoyuan that together comprise the company’s DRAM Center of Perfection. The Center’s goal is to achieve the most efficient and effective technology transfer and manufacturing ramp by combining front- and back-end manufacturing, product engineering and technology development roles.


As a Probe Integration Engineer in Test Probe Central Engineering (TPCE) - Key Equipment Group (KEG), you will have responsibilities for supporting and maintaining Probe equipment and processes that are co-developed with Micron’s Global Manufacturing sites and deployed to our Manufacturing sites around the world. The successful candidate will spend the majority of their time working on Taiwan initiatives to promote greater quality, efficiency and standardization of Probe operations.  A typical day in this position allows candidates to be creative and innovate in the deployment of first-of-a-kind solutions that solve complex problems. Technical direction will be provided by US based TPCE leadership.

Responsibilities and Tasks:
Responsibilities for this role will include, but are not limited to:

  • Act as a TPCE Probe liaison within Taiwan to understand manufacturing site requirements related to Probe processes and equipment.
  • Gather requirements from internal site customers (Test, Product & Quality Engineering) in support of Probe process, equipment and data systems capability enhancements
  • Act as TPCE advocate in Taiwan as interface to vendors local representatives in the integration and deployment of Probe equipment.
  • Deploy FOAK (First of a Kind) equipment and process capabilities through the evaluation of Wafer Probers, Testers and Probe Card technology
  • Participate in Tool Of Record (TOR) and Manufacturing Tool Evaluation Program (MTEP) programs requirements to  ensure Capital business process runs effectively (monthly cycles as well as quarterly Model of Record (MOR) cycles)
  • Initiate and or chair meetings with global Probe sites in support of probe processes for your domain
  • Collaborate with global teams in the Probe network to establish and implement BKM Global Probe Processes
  • Report, investigate first-of-a-kind manufacturing issues and develop methods or processes to close gaps
  • Drive adoption of BKM’s and foster alignment between Taiwan and Japan HVM sites


Successful candidates for this position will have:

  • 5+ year’s industry experience in Probe Domain including one or more of the following areas: equipment development, test process development or product test principles.
  • Working knowledge of Probe Equipment & process (e.g. ATE, Wafer Probers and Probe cards)
  • Working knowledge of MS Office products (i.e advanced excel for data manipulation)
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work well with others in cross functional initiatives and drive for results
  • Flexibility to accommodate off-shift meetings in other time zones
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a multi-national extended team
  • High degree of self-initiative with an ability to think independently


Preferred Experience:
Ideal candidates for this position will have:

  • Working knowledge of semiconductor processes and semiconductor device test methodology
  • Working knowledge of MES and test data (i.e. Lot tracking & data collection)
  • Working knowledge in Data mining (i.e. JMP) will be an advantage


Required Education:
Minimum BS in related Engineering discipline or a combination of appropriate experience and education.
