Micron’s Taiwan sites include sales and technical support in Taipei along with state-of-the-art fabrication facilities in Taichung and Taoyuan that together comprise the company’s DRAM Center of Perfection. The Center’s goal is to achieve the most efficient and effective technology transfer and manufacturing ramp by combining front- and back-end manufacturing, product engineering and technology development roles.


As a Manager/ Senior Engineer, QMS – New Product Governance (NPG), within Global Quality at Micron, you will be responsible for foster close working relationship with the TD, NPI & HVM team to institutionalize the NPI Phase Gate Governance Process and Standards to drive for robust transition from Plan Phase à Design & Develop Phase à Qualify & Validate Phase à Produce & Support Phase in accordance with the Advanced product quality planning (APQP) framework.


Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

Ensure compliance to APQP Framework

  • Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) is a structured process aimed at ensuring customer satisfaction with new products or processes.
  • Work with TD & NPI Team to make sure that the process for development of new product and processes is in accordance with APQP framework


Clarify transition model (i.e. ownership, criteria etc) from TD à NPI à LVM (Safe Launch) à HVM

  • Established & ensure Phase Gate Review for critical transition point within the development lifecycle
  • Clarify the ownership for each phase of development in the APQP lifecycle
  • Ensure robust set of deliverables and criteria to measure the readiness & maturity of the product & process at each Phase Gate


Differentiate NPI Scope vs NPP Scope

  • Clarify the differences between NPI (New Product Introduction) & NPP (New Product Proliferation) and the business process to ensure robust product ramp


Facilitate robust Change Management on deliverables and criteria

  • Establish a robust change management process to make sure that changes to deliverables and criteria at each phase of development is properly evaluated and accepted by the various stakeholders
  • Define a robust deployment plan for introduction of new criteria and deliverables


Facilitate the Phase Gate Exit Sign-off process & Phase Gate Waiver process

  • Enforce review of the readiness and maturity of the new product & processes before going to the next phase of development
  • Ensure proper sign-off of all the relevant quorum at the phase gate
  • Establish a Waiver Process with proper close loop close to allow conditional phase gate exit for outstanding deliverables and criteria
  • Ensure all risk are mitigated before new product or processes are released into HVM


Facilitate NPI Steering Team to drive compliance & effectiveness

  • Measure and report compliance and effectiveness of the NPI Governance process (i.e. on time phase gate exit, zero NPI escape, Phase gate exit without waivers, On time waiver closure etc)



Successful candidates for this position will have:

  • Previous experience in a Fabrication, Product engineering, Global Quality or another relevant group.
  • Knowledge on what a QMS is and exposure to ISO9001:2015 and IATF16949:2016
  • The ability to interpret and effectively resolve complex, technical or ambiguous requests and problems.
  • Experience coordinating projects and efforts across many different project groups.
  • Must have a proven ability to motivate others and motivating a team of people
  • Strong interpersonal and facilitation skills with the ability to work effectively with a variety of people
  • Strong communication skills, ability to assemble, analyze, and evaluate data and provide well-reasoned recommendations and decisions to support the business stakeholders.
  • Be self-directed and able to multitask and prioritize projects
  • Excellent organizational skills with a strong attention to detail
  • The ability to manage workloads successfully and provide outstanding customer service
  • Respond well to constructive feedback.



BS in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or other related technical fields is required.



Required:  5 years’ experience in semiconductor or related technology field and quality.

Desired:  >8 years’ experience in semiconductor or related technology field and quality





According to the "Employment Service Act", positions with salary lower than NTD$40,000, please refer to the salary information in the job description. Positions with salary over than NTD$40,000 will be subject to be discussed during interview.
