Job Description

As a Supply Chain GSM (Global Supply Management) Manager at Micron Technology, Inc., you will be responsible for leading and developing a team that will run supply in response to demand, supply chain strategies and will match demand, capacity, and supply to meet customer requirements. You will effectively prioritize work and adjust to situations that involve conflicting goals and work towards resolution. You will monitor and report on inventory and work in progress (WIP) as well as targeted customer service levels. You will work with all Operations areas to enable efficient use of capacity and communicate with the Demand Management and Manufacturing teams to address areas where the supply may be adjusted to better satisfy demand. You will work with Management on creation of metrics and continuously drive process improvement and accountability to these metrics throughout the supply chain.

Role Responsibilities & Tasks

Drive Strategy and Deliver Results

  • Participates with other senior managers in establishing strategic plans and objectives
  • Drives supply chain management strategies to deliver customer requirements and maintain financial competitiveness
  • Lead internal and external interactions
  • Communicate a shared vision to the team

Manage and Develop the Team

  • Build the team, coach and remove barriers
  • Clearly communicate expectations, provide line of sight to strategic objectives and establish measurable SMART goals and drive accountability
  • Gather and act on feedback in order to continuously develop the team
  • Drive team member performance and development
  • Serve as the point of contact for partner concern

Manage Supply-Demand Fill Rate

  • Establish the accurate build signal in alignment to business plan objectives
  • Provide guidance to Operations teams, Manufacturing and Demand Management teams to manage supply feasibility to support demand.
  • Understand customer requirements to ensure the accurate supply is produced to meet demand
  • Manage supply disruption events and provide clear communication to partner and management teams on adjusted build plan and priorities, trade-offs and recommendations to meet customer demands
  • Improve planning capabilities through recommendations of process and system enhancements

Drive Revenue Plan Attainment

  • Organize, lead, and provide supply risks and opportunities analysis in executive and business management forums to drive alignment to revenue attainment strategy
  • Monitor actual supply output versus projection and engage Operations teams to understand gaps
  • Ensure alignment of Supply Chain objectives around product segmentation, customer requirement, and inventory strategies in the development of the Supply Build Plan to support Sales Plan.

Manage Inventory Planning and Execution Processes

  • Assist in the development and execution of the global inventory strategy and plan in support of business requirements and to achieve the expected inventory levels.
  • Work closely with key partners, handle supply and inventory planning performance, and quality.
  • Collaborate with Finance team on inventory reconciliation and cash flow projections and planning
  • Participate in Operations interlock meetings to ensure supply is properly balanced across all Marketing groups for maximum revenue opportunities.

Lead Programs and Projects

  • Conduct needs assessment on support requests or projects in response to growing business needs
  • Lead or identify project managers to develop project definition, scope, timelines, expected deliverables
  • Monitor activities and report on projects status

Education

Masters Degree

  • Industrial Engineering or Operations Research
  • Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent
  • Operations / Supply Chain Management

Professional certification (example APICS) preferred

Qualifications

8 years experience in any of the following

  • Planning/Forecasting

2 years experience in each of the following

  • Management/Leadership
  • Semiconductor Business
  • Semiconductor Manufacturing
  • Supply Chain
