Lead, Smart Manufacturing Enablement

As a IT Smart Manufacturing Enablement Leader at Micron, you will be responsible to delivery of services and projects related to Smart Manufacturing initiative to achieve manufacturing excellence.  We are seeking someone with demonstrated ability to attract, hire and retain top talent and a deep technical understanding of software engineering platforms, defining requirements and delivering smart manufacturing solutions. Your primary responsibilities will be to grow, develop and lead a team in developing software platform and solution capabilities. A successful candidate is business focused, collaborative and enjoys solving tough business and technology problems. You should be able to drive highly innovative solutions and be obsessive about improving quality while driving efficiencies.


This position will be located in Taiwan working in a fast-paced, iterative environment that also affords the stability of a global, established and competitive technology company. You will work with business stakeholders to help define solution strategies, provide thought leadership on emerging technologies and create “best of breed” solution experiences that will set the standard for future development. You should be familiar with modern software engineering, infrastructure and application monitoring, and be able to dive deep and rapidly iterate on ideas despite ambiguity.




Lead a team in developing software platform and solution capabilities.

  • Manage end-to-end portfolio delivery in terms of schedule, cost, scope and quality; anticipate risks and issues that may arise during the delivery of the portfolio process and ensure that appropriate mitigation actions are in place.
  • Act as a change agent, seeking opportunities to challenge the status quo to meet business objectives.
  • Combine a strong technical foundation with the ability to engage the team on architecture and design, complex solutions and platforms.
  • Automate IT business processes to reduce error and increase speed.
  • Leverage agile methodologies and a development/operations (DevOps) mindset.
  • Ensure that solutions that move from engineering to production are monitored, managed and sustainable.
  • Deliver and manage IT software solutions for the IT department.
  • Deliver smart manufacturing solutions on modern platforms with high availability levels.
  • Collaborate with global business stakeholders and technical partners to develop and execute product roadmaps.
  • Balance cost against high standards in terms of efficiency, quality and performance of solutions.
  • Partner with peers to identify opportunities for solutions development, common services, joint development and redundancy issues.
  • Maintain current knowledge of industry research to ensure we are leveraging new techniques while aligning with internal standards.
  • Plan and execute to an approved budget.
  • Demonstrate accountability; lead people with passion, enthusiasm, loyalty and integrity.

Lead a team of IT individual contributors.

  • Meet with your new direct report on his or her first day of employment and review the New Hire Checklist for Supervisors with him or her.
  • Set expectations for your direct reports (working hours, taking time off, hours accuracy and compliance, SuccessFactors, etc.).
  • Provide your direct reports with the information, technology, and reference materials necessary to perform their jobs.
  • Identify training needs and ensure that team members are properly trained according to department compliance and work requirements
  • Work with the Training Team to develop programs to close performance gaps, and improve agility and bench-depth.
  • Hold your direct reports accountable for meeting job expectations, and following policies and processes.
  • Coordinate and communicate policies and processes.
  • Work with your direct reports to resolve conflicts and concerns that they have.
  • Facilitate team meetings, as needed.

Participate in the hiring process.

  • Help create the job posting based on the duties to be performed.
  • Screen applicants.
  • Participate in interviews.
  • Document the results of interviews.
  • Select the best-qualified candidate.
  • Perform the de-interview process.

Manage your direct reports’ workloads.

  • Partner with site leadership to understand workforce needs.
  • Review team members’ allocations.
  • Analyze workloads, processes, and other metrics to ensure an efficient use of team members.
  • Identify and remove work roadblocks for team members.

Manage your direct reports’ performance and enable their career development.

  • Collaborate with your direct reports to create performance goals that align with and provide line of sight to the strategic objectives and to create development goals to address performance gaps and career development.
  • Meet with your direct reports on a regular basis to build a relationship, build trust and rapport, determine motivators, build engagement, provide job expectations, review performance, determine career aspirations, and provide assistance with issues.
  • Identify and communicate to your direct reports how they can move from one GJS level to the next to enable career advancement.
  • Meet regularly with dotted-line managers.
  • Identify promotable direct reports and execute the Promotion process.
  • Provide recognition to your direct reports.
  • Manage poor performance, following department guidelines, which could include formal corrective action or separation.



  • Masters/Bachelor’s Degree in any Engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years’ relevant working experience, preferably in IT solution delivery that includes experience as a strong technical leader.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with strong interest to work in a dynamic environment.
  • Creative and effective problem solving skills with good conceptual and analytical ability.
  • Strong multi-tasking capabilities; must be capable of managing both individual and group tasks simultaneously.
  • Customer oriented, focused on customer needs and service delivery that meets or exceeds customer expectations.
  • Capable of leading technology change with excellent strategic and technical thought leadership.
  • Strong skills in decision-making, prioritization and negotiation.
  • Ability to retain and engage top talent with technical skills alongside design sensibility and user experience improvement.
  • Passion and accountability to lead others to excellence.
  • Successful in building high-performance, self-managing teams.


According to the "Employment Service Act", positions with salary lower than NTD$40,000, please refer to the salary information in the job description. Positions with salary over than NTD$40,000 will be subject to be discussed during interview.
