As the Indirect Category Supplier Manager (CSM) for Global Sustainability and Renewable Energy you will be responsible for driving and supporting global sustainability projects. In this role you will partner with key stakeholders across the organization including Global Facilities, Global Procurement, site and regional Procurement teams, Global Sustainability team(s), Corporate Sustainability, and Technical Development, among others.  You will engage externally with consultants and 3rd party service providers involved in supporting Micron’s global sustainability goals.  You will work with Micron Legal to determine the contract strategy needed to support sustainability projects and drive compliance to that contract. 

Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Act as primary contact within Procurement for sustainability projects and programs
  • Work with key stakeholders in Global Facilities, Sustainability Team, Legal, Treasury to define and implement business processes for reviewing, approving and managing long-term renewable energy contracts.
  • Support individual sites in achieving their specific renewable energy goals
  • Drive commercial negotiations for various sustainability projects
  • Identify and qualify potential renewable energy developers and suppliers
  • Work with key stakeholders to define business process for managing renewable energy credits obtained through direct purchase, VPPA/PPA, etc.
  • Collaborate with site Procurement teams on site-specific sustainability projects and help implement a fast-follower methodology for other sites to follow
  • Align with key stakeholders on a long-term strategy for renewable energy projects and create a strategy to achieve the long-term renewable energy goals set forth by the executive team.
  • Communicate key category management updates and decisions to multiple levels in the organization including Executive Leadership 
  • Publish a monthly sustainability newsletter



  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in related field



  • Direct experience or very strong knowledge in the Renewable Energy field
  • Demonstrate knowledge of REC, VPPA, PPPA and other types of renewable energy programs
  • Experience in sourcing renewable energy providers and developers
  • Experience with long-term renewable energy credit (REC) management
  • Experience managing long-term renewable energy contracts, programs and projects
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to be a persuasive advocate
    Experience as change agent that seeks out and advocates new and innovative solutions to meet the business needs
  • Comfort around executive level team members
  • Collaboration skills with peers in global category and stakeholder teams
  • Able to work independently or with a cross functional team
  • Demonstrated relationship management skills, including to navigate the organization and influence decisions
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, including leveraging an analytic toolset and setting financial targets to incorporate Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) concepts
  • Demonstrated ability to lead without authority
  • History in Business Acumen, Planning, and Decision Making
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite applications




Potential limited future travel depending on project
