Job Description:

As a Global Process Safety Management (PSM) Program Manager at Micron Technology, you will be responsible for the continued development of Micron’s Risk Based Process Safety (RBPS) system. Micron’s RBPS system foundation is based upon four main incident prevention pillars. This is a proven and well-established process safety management system developed by the Center for Chemical Process Safety (CCPS). The four pillars are: Commit to Process Safety, Understand Hazards and Risk, Manage Risk, and Learn from Experience. A successfully built and implemented RBPS system will drive the prevention of, preparedness for, mitigation of, response to, and restoration from catastrophic releases of chemicals or energy at Micron Facilities. This position will report directly to the Global PSM Director.

 

Primary Job Responsibilities Include:

  • Oversee RBPS Program Governance
  • Support ongoing quality improvements of the RBPS program, including gathering and acting on performance metrics
  • Provide Process Safety leadership, direction, and education of Micron’s RBPS program
  • Implement and monitor RBPS programs and policies
  • Communicate program expectations to all stakeholders
  • Maintain program support through continuous interaction with senior leaders
  • Lead best practice sharing and implementation
  • Perform complete RBPS compliance audits at proper cadence and ensure follow-up on corrective actions to ensure adherence to RBPS standards and recognized and generally accepted good engineering practices (RAGAGEP)
  • Identify potential crises and develop and execute resolution plans
  • Ensure business process flows that support the RBPS program are created and followed
  • Define scope, goals and deliverables that support business objectives in collaboration with sponsors and stakeholders
  • Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve program objectives
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations
  • Manage changes in program scope
  • Facilitate RBPS elements to sustaining mode or close out programs
  • Work with project teams as a technical resource for both project management objectives and project artifacts
  • Work with the Fabs, Facilities, PMO office, and Manufacturing Central Team to define, develop, and maintain processes and support systems that help drive success
  • Support Speed Execution Alignment (SEAL) teams by providing feedback and help with vision/strategy roadmap and timeline for area system development
  • Develop and/or utilize current systems to capture, communicate, and propagate best known business practices from the global community
  • Stay current with area-specific business practices at each site                                                     

 

Qualifications and skills:

  • Ability to move projects effectively through project lifecycle - propose, initiate, plan, execute, and Post Implementation Review (PIR) - while balancing time, cost, quality, scope, and risk/opportunity constraints
  • Extensive experience with hazard assessment, data analysis root cause investigation
  • Strong technical expertise in the areas of Chemical Process Safety
  • Demonstrated ability to comfortably work across organizational boundaries and geographies
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional organizations to understand needs and translate them into actionable plans, deliverables, and resource requirements
  • Ability to be guided by business objectives and determine best methods for delivering results
  • Demonstrated proficiency in independently completing complex tasks
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Experience using advanced written and oral communication skills to mitigate risk to the business and resolve sensitive or difficult issues.
  • Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proven facilitation skills including the ability to influence others
  • Demonstrated ability to be an agent for change — not satisfied with the status quo, willing to take strong and effective action to effectively manage change
  • Fluent computer skills including but not limited to Workfront, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel            
  • Genuine passion and commitment to employee health and safety, coupled with a high level of integrity to do what is right
  • Knowledge or experience with RAGAGEP pertaining to process chemicals, process tools, and support systems
  • Must have experience in Risk Based Process Safety Management including Process Hazard Analysis (PHA)
  • Proven experience applying extensive knowledge of Product Engineering, Planning and Program Management to carry out strategy

 

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or Higher, or equivalent industry experience
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in process engineering / technology design
  • Minimum 1 year of experience implementing Process Safety
  • Semiconductor Manufacturing plant knowledge

 

Workplace:

  • Must be willing to travel ~ one week per/month
