Micron’s Taiwan sites include sales and technical support in Taipei along with state-of-the-art fabrication facilities in Taichung and Taoyuan that together comprise the company’s DRAM Center of Perfection. The Center’s goal is to achieve the most efficient and effective technology transfer and manufacturing ramp by combining front- and back-end manufacturing, product engineering and technology development roles.

Job Description:

Micron Technology is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Building Information Modeling Manager for immediate employment in Singapore/Taiwan. The successful candidate will demonstrate a broad range of experience leading the cross-discipline development of BIM Technical Specifications, Processes and Procedures for projects ranging from large scale Manufacturing Site Base Build and Expansion Projects, to Tool Installation Projects. Responsibilities to include establishment of a Micron BIM Standard, and the creation of procedures, the integration of existing design criteria, integration of disciplines models, internal staff development and leadership of BIM models across multiple sites.


 The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

  • Provide support to project delivery teams by managing the resolution of BIM related issues and tasks.
  • Interface with A&E Firms and General Contractors to drive the use of model-based technologies and help proposal and project teams interpret and integrate those standards.
  • Provide oversight, training, direction and support to project designers to ensure that Micron BIM Standards are comprehended and followed.
  • Work with site project teams, their consultants and contractors to coordinate BIM issues with design teams to develop and reinforce standards with the goal of refining the models and BIM deliverables.
  • Communicate with team leaders from all disciplines, including architecture, mechanical, electrical, process water, process chemical and gases, civil, construction management, structural, and encourage all team leaders to collaborate with each other and maintain a consolidated BIM Construction Model.
  • Provide comments on Proposal Documents relative to BIM utilization. Review and provide written comment report on Designers and Contractors BIM Execution Plans.
  • Coordinate in-house and external resources for training and implementation in support of multi-disciplinary use of the digital technology necessary to create and maintain BIM Models.
  • Facilitate model handover from designer to builder to end user at the site level.
  • Maintain ownership and manage the global database of BIM models across the network sites.
  • Evaluate Professional Services or Alternative Delivery proposals for compliance with BIM requirements
  • Develop the requirements and standards for integrating submittals, manufacturer s data and as-built information into the BIM model to enhance the models.
  • Partner with Stakeholders, consultant staff, and site level end users to integrate BIM into a wider project management and/or workflow system.  Integrate leading edge BIM applications including Scheduling, Cost, Asset Management, and O&M programs into the BIM models.
  • Monitor and guide the model advancement and utilization process through construction.
  • Review the contractors' BIM model and as-built model compliance with the BIM Standard.
  • Report to the Manager of Design. Minimum content to include: BIM Issue Tracker, Audit Reports from BIM for Clash Detection and RFIs Alternate Exercises pending, in-progress and completed including results Status of Model Development according to trade, work breakdown structure identifier (phasing), cost categories, submittal/shop drawing integration, and project close-out requirements. BIM Transmittal Log BIM Exports to a Project Management System BIM planned versus actual validation report.


 Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in any relevant Engineering or Architectural field, or equivalent experience 4+ years of experience and background in modeling, data management and knowledge of best practices in BIM.  Proven ability to lead a transition staff working in 2D/CAD to 3D/BIM software such as Revit, E3D or Bentley as well as supporting staff members already working in these platforms with project related issues and process questions.
  • Production experience in Revit architecture used for construction documentation.
  • Excellent communications skills, and the ability to document and present procedures, workflows, and capabilities to a broad audience including technical and non-technical personnel.
  • Knowledge of network computing systems, server application, database design & management and custom application development.
  • Expertise at an administrator level of BIM software and ability to develop internal/external network collaboration.
  • Have a thorough understanding of LEED and other sustainability standards or initiatives. Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills Extensive knowledge of standard BIM practices, standards, and procedures.


Preferred Qualifications:

 Master s degree in Architecture or Engineering 8+ years of relevant work experience.
