Micron’s Taiwan sites include sales and technical support in Taipei along with state-of-the-art fabrication facilities in Taichung and Taoyuan that together comprise the company’s DRAM Center of Perfection. The Center’s goal is to achieve the most efficient and effective technology transfer and manufacturing ramp by combining front- and back-end manufacturing, product engineering and technology development roles.

Job Description

As a site cost program engineer, you are responsible for overseeing activities related to developing and submitting cost reduction / budgets / material planning.

Work with team to find out the opportunity any other circumstances that affects the cost of operations.

Your responsibilities include the role of cost program manager, reviewing area budgets, analyzing area performance to plan data,

finding ways to reduce operation costs, and working with global corporate teams on cost related projects.

Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Cost Reduction Activities
  • Work with the Area Cost Engineer to identify, develop and define aggressive area cost reduction goals, metrics, and strategy
  • Monitor area spending trends, budgets, and progress to help identify Cost Reduction opportunities
  • Drive innovative, strategic solutions for cost reduction
  • Use available resources and systems (such as KT) in the decision making process
  • Material Planning
  • Work with IE/PUR/Area Engineer to ensure the material is sufficient for production.
  • Material BOM accuracy metrics trace and improvement.
  • Engage BOM and production request to provide the material forecast for procurement supply management.
  • Reporting and Communication
  • Manage and update site weekly reporting with respect to area progress, procedures, new developments, etc.
  • Communicate regularly with all goal stakeholders on the status of Cost Metrics and Goals
  • Ensure all CR projects are shared with other sites as well as keep track of new projects created at other sites that could be potential projects
  • Drive and motivate the entire site towards the goals and targets that are set in order to move the company towards best in class.
  • Ensure that regular updates on metrics and goals are presented, included includes best in class repot from Central Team
  • Provide each area with regular feedback on their spend successes and opportunities for improvement
  • Budgeting
  • Work with each area to budget and plan CR to approach the BP request
  • Understand all area spend and use this information to help finance develop future budgets
  • Work with site Finance team to forecast future cost in budget cycle
  • Program and Project Management
  • Ensure projects are correctly prioritized, remain on time, and that areas are knowledgeable of their timelines
  • Ensure accuracy of projected savings
  • Facilitate cost meetings to identify active project progress and needs
  • Provide project resources and remove barriers
