In Micron’s Technology Development (TD) organization, we work in a state of the art semiconductor facility to develop future memory technology. As a Dry Etch Process Development Engineer in Taiwan Technology Center (TTC), you will design and optimize plasma etch processes for Micron's leading-edge memory. You will take ideas from conception through process development then implementation in our production facilities. Your primary areas of responsibility include plasma etch process characterization, optimization, design, troubleshooting, process transfer and fundamental research. Dry Etch Process Development Engineers interact with groups such as process integration, electrical failure analysis, yield enhancement, manufacturing, and equipment vendors to develop robust etch processes that meet the precise physical and electrical requirements for Micron products. This position requires that you have an aptitude for a research and development environment, good organization skills and the ability to work independently or in a team environment. This role is critical to the success of Micron's products and may require travel to Micron manufacturing sites.



Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


  • Developing Dry Etch recipes to meet structural & electrical requirements.
  • Delivering advanced technology to meet future product nodes.
  • You will work in cross-functional teams to jointly develop device structures.
  • Supporting cross-functional failure analysis and yield improvement.
  • Updating the Fab engineers on customer issues and technology needs.
  • You will manage wafers though Dry Etch levels in support of special requirements.
  • Supporting root cause defect and unique fail mode analysis.
  • You will maintain or develop expertise in multiple process, hardware, or technology areas.
  • You will be a resource for peers in recipe & process development.





  • Proficient in Mandarin and English languages
  • Solid trouble shooting, experimental design and data analysis skills
  • Knowledge or experience of plasma sources used in plasma etching
  • Knowledge or experience of dry etch processes and plasma processing equipment.
  • Knowledge or experience of process control, statistics for engineering, and Statistical Process Control (SPC).
  • Knowledge or experience of solid-state device physics.
  • Knowledge or experience of semiconductor processes and metrology equipment used in the semiconductor industry.
  • Knowledge or experience in other semiconductor manufacturing areas like Photo lithography, CVD, Wet Etch etc.
  • Knowledge or experience in one or more of the following topics: Transport phenomena, Electromagnetics, Atomic/Molecular physics, and Surface phenomena.
  • Must be willing to work evenings and weekends, if necessary.




  • You have a MS/PhD or a BS and at least 5 years experience in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics
