Senior / Payroll Specialist

Job Description

You will be responsible to process the company’s payroll on timely and accurately basis, including labor distribution records, overtime, tax withholding status, vacation and sick leave accrual. You will be accountable for Payroll service delivery and expected to meet government reporting requirements for payroll taxes, withholding, and other employer statutory contributions.

Responsibilities and Tasks


Process Time and Attendance Records through the Payroll System

· Capture, approve, transfer and evaluate time and attendance records

· Verify time data for accuracy

· Work with other HR function teams or contact supervisors to correct errors


 Audit Pre- and Post-Payroll Activities

· Run reports (pre and post) for various HR areas for review

· Analyze payroll results for accuracy

· Perform documented controls (such as SOX, RBA)

· Provide Finance and third-party vendors (eg tax vendor, mobility vendor) with payroll data on a regular cadence


Manage Payroll Processing

· Handle offcycle and main run payroll processing timely and accurately

· Prepare payroll reports and do reconciliation

· Upload salary payment (both GIRO and cashier’s order requests) to the bank

· Provide payroll output (payroll postings, fund requirements, month-end reports) to Treasury and Finance

· Responsible for monthly submission of tax and other statutory requirements (eg CPF)


Manage the Exit Process

· Capture, approve, transfer and evaluate time and attendance records of separating team members

· Gather all information relating to the separation from other HR function teams

· Process overtime and vacation leave payout for separating team members

· Work with other HR function teams (eg Employee Relations, Customer Service) and Finance for team members who owe monies to Micron

· Process Severance Payments for separated team members.

· File tax clearance for foreign team members

· Run team members’ final payroll timely.


Maintain Payroll Data and Systems

· Manage SAP payroll system, troubleshoot system errors, evaluate impacts and correct errors

· Collaborate with IT for resolution

· Receive, evaluate and process system or data change requests

· Perform system testing to ensure data integrity

· Escalate issues to appropriate party(ies) as needed


Manage Internal and External Relationships

· Conduct orientation briefing to new hires on payroll matters

· Communicate and address payroll queries from leaders and team members

· Maintain on-going relationships with other HR function teams and Departments (eg Accounting, Treasury, IT)

· Attend to auditors' queries during various audits such as annual payroll audit, RBA etc

· Have regular calls with tax vendor to follow up and close gaps in service levels for assignee tax



· Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience in business, HR or Finance
· Minimum 5 years experience in handling Payroll and Tax

· Experience and knowledge in using SAP is a must.

· Experience in WorkDay system will be a bonus.
