PRINCIPLE TECHNICAL CUSTOMER MANAGER

Description:

You will excel in being the primary interface between the customer and Micron engineering/design centers. Developing a long-term relationship with the customer to support streamlined communication and qualification efforts that facilitates products being qualified in target customer applications with maximum efficiency. Acting as subject matter expert on the customer for product qualification requirements, resulting in a reduced time to market. You will proactively define qualification requirements and processes to shape a qualification plan that ensures success, provide an interface for the customer to engineering groups and design centers, and communicate customer qualification requirements and status to management, business unit, sales and development teams.
 

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Be the primary technical interface to the customer for all qualification related topics
  • Program manage the qualification of new product introductions (NPI) at targeted customers and their ODM partners
  • Collect and have a deep understanding of customer qualification and test requirements and follow process for alignment of requirements with Micron internal teams
  • Able to document and present complex technical information to customers and internal stakeholders at an appropriate level
  • Definition and execution of customer qualification plans and schedules
  • Managing customer qualification escalations by driving priorities on issue resolution-closure-corrective action
  • Contribute technical and business input in support of business cases
  • Managing regular customer communication and associated action item tracker
  • Ensuring sample requirements are identified and executed for your customer
  • Provide regular qualification status updates to Micron management
  • Configuration management and approvals for sample and production units
  • Drive customer change management process
  • Educate Micron development and validation teams on the customer qualification process as well as the critical customer requirements

Qualifications:

Successful candidates for this position will have:

  • Minimum 5 years of storage or related high-tech experience including interaction with sales, customers, engineers and product development teams
  • Minimum 2 years of Client ecosystem customer experience, preferably having previously or currently working at a Client OEM/ODM
  • Requires knowledge of OEM product qualification processes and a broad-based understanding of the storage industry.
  • Demonstrated project management skills, executive presentation abilities and customer relationship management experience are key requirements
  • A strong, driven personality who can work as an advocate for the customer within the design team
  • Demonstrated business acumen to understand and communicate customer impacts and trade offs
  • Ability / flexibility to work evenings, holidays and weekends as required
  • Ability / flexibility to travel domestically and internationally with short notice
  • Able to relay technical information to and from the customer verbally and in writing at a professional level

Education:

  • Degree in a technical discipline
