SENIOR/ PRINCIPAL ENGINEER, CUSTOMER MAPPED QUALITY EXPERIENCE (CMQE)

Job Description:

As a Global Quality (GQ) Senior/ Principal Customer Mapped Quality Experience Engineer (CMQE) at Micron Technology, Inc., you are the voice of the customer for Quality.  You will be the key customer facing contact to manage your Customers’ Quality requirements so that Micron is able to deliver a world class Customer Quality Experience.  You are accountable for the customer’s product quality and reliability and identifying plans to bring Micron to the number 1 supplier quality ranking position.   You will be responsible to reach out to customers proactively to assess their needs and driving best of breed standards internally.   You will interact regularly with sales, field application engineers and internal stakeholders to maintain alignment on quality and reliability issues and foster customer relationships.

 

  • Be voice of the customer on quality within Micron
  • Provide technical or operational quality issue resolution support to customers.
  • Lead critical customer improvements/projects/ initiatives that can improve on quality and customer satisfaction
  • Ensure customer requirements are reflected in Processes, Procedures & standards
  • Drive quality-related proactive and reactive communication
  • Track, update & close all customer action items (AI) on time
  • Work closely with customer to determine their key care-abouts
  • Lead scorecard tracking and improvements
  • Managing, scheduling and leading MQR
  • Communicate/track and close customer quality processes requirements
  • Work with different internal teams to ensure robust, closed loop on customer requests/ requirements
  • Work closely with internal teams on the 8D problem solving process to prevent reoccurrences
  • Effective customer quality issues management- timely containment, communication and resolution in customer manufacturing (DRAM module/SSD/Memory Components)

Education:

Required:

Bachelor’s Degree or higher in:

• Electronics

• Engineering - Electrical

• Engineering - Industrial

• Engineering - Materials Science

• Or Related field of study

Experience

Required

5+ years’ experience in the following:

  • Customer Quality, Supplier Quality, Field Applications Engineering, Technical sales engineering
  • The ability and willingness to travel when required; travel required (about 10%)

Additional desired experience:

  • Familiarity with semiconductor processing, device physics, quality reliability fundamentals, customer management experience
  • Design, product, test, support, system, or applications engineering experience in SSD, HDD, or storage applications a strong plus
  • Working knowledge of SATA, SAS or PCIe interfaces
  • System or device level SSD and/or HDD troubleshooting and failure analysis experience
  • Experience with lab testing (oscilloscope and logic analyzer usage) and debug

Qualifications to be successful in the role:

  • Semiconductor manufacturing/Memory Design experience a strong plus
  • High degree of proven self-initiative and ability to think and act independently
  • Excellent English verbal, written communication skills, and presentation skills
  • Must demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, with advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills
  • Exceptional multi-tasking and problem-solving skills are essential
  • The ability to work under tight timeframes, prioritize competing activities and drive for results is a must
  • Excellent organizational, issue management skills and outstanding interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • The ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand needs and translate them into actionable plans, deliverables, and resource requirements
  • The ability to effectively interact with a wide range of personalities and handle conflicts in priorities
