Material Planner

As a Global BE Materials Planner, you will be in position to collaborate with both local site and global teams located at all Back End internal and external manufacturing locations to drive significant value to the organization. This is an established role within the Global Supply Chain Management, blending Supply Chain Planning, Backend Central & Tactical Planning, MEM Ops and Procurement paradigms, and provides a unique platform for transformation.

 

The focus  on the  aggregated summary of global materials requirements, the sources of the signals, supply health, the calculation and platform utilized, and their interdependent constraints. The goal of this team is to drive the optimization and standardization of centralized forecasting signals and supply health, materials requirements schedules to our business partners, encompassing all Back End manufacturing locations.

 

Collaborating with ISM , Category, GSM, MEM Ops, BETP teams, success will be defined as a transparent, responsive, efficient, and well aligned supply support process. This process must be positioned to support the company’s manufacturing sites and to enable hitting the fluctuating demand plan of record and in parallel work inside our working capital thresholds. This success will manifest itself across Procurement, MEM Ops in a significantly lower count of purchase order expedites and escalations, low instances of factory down time due to materials availability, increased inventory turns, high on time delivery.

 

In this role, you be a key player in developing and executing a holistic improvement strategy for your designated manufacturing location, while collaborating with similar sites to encompass a unified approach. You will have a shared responsibility in the team to help develop the improvement strategy by supporting an assessment of current and future needs and identify and drive opportunities to leverage changes in processes and systems.

 

 

Role Responsibilities & Tasks

Forecasting Execution

  • Generate forecasts in the AS-IS process timely and accurately for the assigned categories at the site.
  • Deliver forecasts to stakeholders in a consistent scalable process
  • Construction preparation, and reporting of departmental metrics for the assigned categories.
  • Build flexibility into your resource working model to support other functional teams
  • Execute forecasting activities with both GSM, ISM and Site requirements considered

 

Process Enhancement

  • Protect Micron by investigating weekly forecast disconnects, and support business partners in resolving to meet the demand volume and timing, limiting negative impacts. 
  • Drive additional KPI analysis tools to investigate and problem solve issues -  Build out Root Cause Analysis skillset & drive extreme ownership mindset
  • ​Trend forecast accuracy data to generate proactive actions to prevent supply disruptions​
  • Support the global assessment process of current and future needs, and benchmarking
  • Manage conflict and build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Develop expertise in global forecast management through execution and development of processes, leverage expertise to envision future state requirements of advanced tools and methods

 

Infrastructure Development

Play a key role in MRP system development/implementation/maintenance, construct user test cases, change management advocate

Standardized centralized Forecasting signal, material schedules across all sites

Develop and execute solutions for  100% material solve on Capability To Match runs

Education

Required: Bachelor’s Degree with related field of study

• Electrical/ Electronic Engineering

Qualifications

1-2 years’ experience in any of the following:

• Planning/Demand Mgt/Purchasing

• Semiconductor Manufacturing

• MPS Planning
