As a System Infrastructure Engineer at Micron Shared Service Center, you will support the Micron’s core computing environment (servers, storage, operating systems and infrastructure). These systems are host platforms for Micron’s management, file, print, database, remote access, mail, web, manufacturing and application (client/server) systems.

Your key role will be:

  • Provide support for acquisition, installation, maintenance, and administration of large enterprise SAN, NAS & enterprise Backup environment.
  • You will define, design and implement core system hardware and operating system solutions and maintain systems
  • Along with our team of forward-thinking Engineers, you will work in a complex, highly-secure, highly-available, operations-centric datacenter environments and interact with other technology teams, to build and maintain the Open Systems Storage and Back-ups solutions in those datacenter environments
  • Provide backup client installations & scheduling, backup policies setting, performance tuning, and troubleshooting
  • Use SAN, NAS & TSM Backup management tools to analyze performance and identify bottlenecks or slowdowns and take appropriate action to resolve
  • Plan, handle and upgrade components of the SAN/NAS/TSM as needed with software, hardware and microcode upgrades, etc. Work with vendors as needed in this process
  • Work with Micron’s Business Units to ensure solutions meet or exceed business requirements.
  • Provide advanced engineering support for raised remedy cases
  • Upkeep service efficiency and end-user positive satisfaction levels
  • Craft and update system processes, procedures, and support documentation for each quarterly release
  • Regular and timely update of project status to the key partners
  • Involve in projects to upkeep the computing environment to meet future demands.
  • Maintain systems and update operational documentation to ensure that they are current.
  • You will work with the global team to share on engineering efforts, technical challenges and breakthroughs
  • Attend to level 2/3 user service requests and service restoration through remedy (Incident management)
  • Experience collaborating with team members to get results
  • Ensure all changes to systems are recorded and properly executed with approval (Change Management)
  • Review the performance of systems and plan for technological refresh and cater for future expansion (Capacity Management)
  • Participate in Business Continuity Planning and DR strategy including documenting of DR procedures, and executing DR drills
  • Maintain and review the DR documents on a regular basis.


  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in relevant Management Information Systems (MIS), Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering or related field of study
  • Knowledge of Linux, Unix and Windows environment and administration
