Job Description

As a Process Control System Manager, you will lead a team, and be responsible for Process Control Systems (SPC/FD/R2R/etc) systems and Business Process management, Process control solutions’ successful integration in Micron Assembly Test (AT) network.


Job responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Leadership and Innovation for Quality Solutions:

  • Provide direction and facilitate the practical application of SPC/FD/R2R within AT Manufacturing environment, covering all aspects including Business Process, interaction with Quality Functions, MCT Automation, PDE and SMAI team
  • Setting tactical and strategic vision for the team to bring innovation into the PCS technologies and how they are applied to AT Network.
  • Personnel and performance management and mentoring to ensure team members know where they are meeting expectations and goals as well as where they can improve development or performance
  • Provide a work environment that empowers employees to creatively improve their work environment, instills a sense of ownership in Micron, and supports a team effort
  • Ensure all required safety training is complete and all work is conducted in a safe manner
  • Create the environment to foster and instill Benchmark Culture consistent with Micron Behaviors
  • Provide knowledge, resources & training (tools, systems, human resources, etc.) in order to enable our team members to be successful in meeting the technical aspects of their job. Ensure challenges/barriers to drive goals are always clearly identified, prioritized, and have solid action plans to address them
  • External communication to customer and peer groups to ensure we are keeping them apprised of activity, leveraging each other’s resources, and minimizing duplication of effort
  • Manage and coordinate resources, metrics, and systems to facilitate the achievement of quality goals
     Skills and Experience:
  • Have excellent supervisory and organizational skills with the ability to provide direction for the SPC, Fault Detection, R2R and related PCS functions. Global team engagement and leadership experience is a plus point.
  • Have a good understanding of FMEA and how control mechanics and SPECs relate with Process Control deployment requirements.
  • You must be known as a results-oriented individual who obtains results through individual contributions and coordinating successful teams; be an individual who is dedicated to understanding and meeting customer needs and team goals; and be known as an individual with high standards of personal integrity
  • You should have the proven ability to solicit feedback, accept input, and analyze success and failure in order to improve personal and team effectiveness
  • Demonstrated strengths in "team building" with a strong focus on effective team dynamics and distributed responsibility
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, problem solving, analytical skills, reporting, and effectively present highly technical data 
  • Proven ability to make sound, data-driven decisions 
  • Proven ability to communicate and present effectively 
  • Advanced understanding of SPC principles 
  • Advanced understanding of PCS solutions including Fault Detection
  • Advanced understanding of database architectures for PCS related activities
  • Proven ability to drive complex projects to completion 
  • Demonstrated ability to partner successfully with other groups and build strong peer relationships
  • Minimum B.S. degree in Statistics, Mathematics, and/or Engineering with an emphasis in Applied Statistics
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in semiconductor industry applying a variety of statistical methods, including process control and metrology
  • Experience with Tableau, R, JMP, and/or other statistical software including scripting capability for automating analysis
  • Experience in the areas: statistical modeling, feature extraction and analysis, supervised/unsupervised/semi-supervised learning.
  • Ability to visualize and design database, fluent with various query languages and ability to apply data cleansing, outlier identification, and missing data techniques.
  • Strong software development skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • A strong plus point if the desirable skillsets are available:
    • Machine learning and other advanced analytical methods
    • Fluency in Python and/or R
    • Hadoop (Hive, Spark, HBase)
    • Teradata, Snowflake and/or another SQL databases
    • Tensorflow, and/or other statistical software including scripting capability for automating analyses
    • Experience working with time series data, images, semi-supervised learning, and data with frequently changing distributions is a plus.
