Job Description:


As Director Test Equipment Engineering - Asia at Micron Technology, Inc., you will be responsible for leading Test Equipment Development and Integration activities in the Asia region. You will work in close partnership with Equipment Engineering development teams in the United States to advance Test capability across Micron’s broad product portfolio and deliver industry ‘Best in Class’ Equipment and related Processes across Test Manufacturing sites in Asia. You will focus on Key Equipment initiatives, while ensuring priorities are aligned to Micron Business Plan and/or Strategic Objectives.

This position requires strong collaboration with Manufacturing Site Leadership, R&D entities, Test Engineering, Procurement, Business Units, Product Engineering, Quality Engineering and external suppliers as necessary to accomplish your objectives. You must also be willing and capable of international travel as needed.


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Advance Test Manufacturing Capability
  • Understand competitive offerings and industry landscape in all related Test Equipment areas.
  • Ensure solutions to close gaps between product roadmap requirements and existing test capability are developed/integrated
  • Facilitate new test technology development/evaluation in conjunction with peer engineering groups / suppliers.
  • Own Key Test Equipment supplier strategic relationships and
  • drive suppliers to develop and deliver solutions that provide process improvement or new capability
  • Interact with Industry Technical Leaders and Suppliers to influence current industry test capability trends
  • Establish and maintain Key Performance Metrics for Test Capability Advancement and Benchmarking
  • Collaborate with MFG Leadership and other functional areas to develop/optimize business processes that will maximize manufacturing performance
  • Work with procurement global supplier account managers to ensure technical requirements feed into procurement strategies for suppliers
  • Communicate with corporate EHSS and site Process Hazard Analysis engineers to ensure process safety requirements are met
  • Set clear direction, goals, and expectations to your organization with clear line of sight to Corporate goals/priorities
  • Recruit top caliber members for the group
  • Lead, coach, mentor, and provide guidance to facilitate development of team members
  • Build an environment that cultivates teamwork, innovation, and job fulfillment.


Qualifications for ideal candidate:

  • Senior Engineering Leader with 12+ years of industry experience
  • Minimum 10+ years of technical leadership/management experience
  • Solid understanding of Test Equipment architectures
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand engineering needs and translate them into actionable plans, deliverables, and resource requirements.
  • Demonstrated Project Management and organization skills
  • Ability to inspire others, foster creativity and innovation, and drive ongoing improvement of effectiveness and efficiency
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a multi-national extended team.
  • High degree of self-initiative with an ability to think and act independently
  • Minimum of BS in applicable Engineering subject area or a combination of related experience and education is required
  • A record of performance excellence for current area of responsibility, previous areas managed, and recognized as having proven successful leadership characteristics both in present and past roles
  • Demonstrated ability as an excellent mentor, team builder, and motivator
