DIRECTOR, SMART MFG & AI Planning & Operation Innovation

Job Description

As the Innovation Director of Smart Manufacturing Artificial Intelligence (SMAI) Planning & Operation, you will define and drive the vision for the Artificial Intelligence transformation of Planning and Operation in Micron. You will work closely with diverse teams from Fab, Assembly & Test, Supply Chain, Sale and Planning to build State-of-the Art End-to-End Planning Platform to enable Micron to continue to lead in this competitive landscape. You will be responsible to lead innovation and new frontier technology for Smart Manufacturing

 

Primary Responsibility

  • Develop the strategy and drive the execution of End-to-End Planning Digital Twin. The scope will include the whole close loop planning of wafer start, product priority for fab, product configuration at wafer probe, shipment profile, wafer bank, die bank, finish good, demand signal, sale signal & forecast. The scope will also include the long-term strategic plan for capex and opex investment for bit growth and revenue optimization
  • Profit, ASP, Output Maximization and cost minimization by optimization of our planning and scheduling system through building AI in our planning and scheduling platform
  • Improve productivity and output by building next generation ROC powered by AI
  • Develop Digital Twin for critical processes, including partnering with Technology Development Group
  • Identify opportunities to improve planning process to reduce cost, cycle time and maximize yield, quality, productivity, revenue and profitability
  • Lead innovation and new frontier technology for Smart Manufacturing
  • Identify, prioritize and drive implementation of smart manufacturing solutions roadmap in FE manufacturing operations
  • Central governance driven by SM&AI to ensure solutions are scaled across fabs
  • Partner with external engagement (university: pipeline of talent, vendor: new innovative project, conferences/benchmarking)
  • Build the effective smart manufacturing strategic team with continuous education and skillset development of TMs
  • Partner with SEAL/BKM to develop new projects to address current metrics gaps and new business opportunity

Requirement

  • Strong leadership skill with proven track record in talent management and strong execution.
  • Strong passion in planning, AI and smart manufacturing
  • Strong project management and organizational change skills and experience
  • Proven track record to perform in an environment characterized by volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity
  • Excellent knowledge in planning and strong analytical skills
  • Good knowledge of AI, statistic, modelling and simulation, queuing theory, and TOC concept
  • Good understanding of data engineering, Industrial Engineering, and IT infrastructure
  • PhD in related field of Planning, AI, Statistic, modelling and simulation is a strong advantage
  • Ability to assume high exposure responsibilities and interact with senior leadership
  • Results-oriented, with a growth mindset and strong dedication to identify and implement improvement opportunities
  • Strong influencing skills and the ability to build strong interpersonal relationships
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal English-language communication and presentation skills
  • 6 or more years of leadership experience
  • Strong influencing skills and the ability to build strong interpersonal relationships
  • Experience with mentoring, collaboration, communication, goal setting, and a growth of positive mindset
  • Ability to work through ambiguous situations to drive work solution/product delivery
  • Able and willing to travel overseas (minimum 25% or higher)
