Job Description

As a DEMQRA Packrel Test/SLT Equipment Engineer, you will be responsible for the development, improvement and qualification of new and existing equipment and processes.

You work with Manufacturing, Test Engineering, Quality Assurance (QA) and other manufacturing central team resources to design and develop equipment, define and establish processes.  You will also provide direction and assistance with the aim at reducing overall cost and improving OEE%.


Coordinate Equipment and Process Integration

  • Develop and modify processes for product quality control and production efficiency
  • Support first article startup (new equipment and tooling), and provide feedback to the BECT development team on any technical issue observed at the implementation site
  • Act as the tool owner for GQ Owned tester for Tool of Records (TOR) on the alignment and standardization, as well as to review, evaluate and fan-out engineering changes
  • Work down outstanding equipment issues with suppliers to minimize impact on GQ AQL test.
  • Assist in the fan out of best-known methods (BKM) to identify gaps among sites and ensure best practices are shared and fanned out
  • Provide solution to address equipment problem within established response time
  • Work with other labs and HVM sites to provide model of record (MOR) commitment to the Capacity group

  • Utilize proper data collection techniques and make data driven decisions
  • Learn and utilize the use of appropriate formats for summation and presentation of data and analysis such as SPC, FMEA, databases, charts, graphs, and reports
  • Facilitate group decision making process, know when to seek direction/help from more senior engineering resources and take responsibility for decisions
  • Set goals, define task priorities and respond to changes in a positive manner, providing constructive feedback when necessary
  • Be pro-active in anticipating and analyzing issues

Perform capacity analysis

  • Run and analyze capacity reports.
  • Summarize capacity analysis
  • Present data to management
  • Monitor and address supply discrepancies


Capital Management for Micron owned equipment

  • Determine equipment needs to support upcoming production forecast or scenario plan
  • Determine budget needed to meet forecast, submit justification for capital requests
  • Ensure that assets are properly accounted for in Micron systems
  • Coordinate with Back End Central Planning team to optimize network capital assets and look for reuse opportunities
  • Utilize Tool of Record to identify the type, quantity, cost and lead time of equipment required


Account for Safety and Ergonomic Considerations in Designs and Engineering Solutions

  • Ensure safety certification items remain current
  • Promote and uphold all area, company, local, state, and federal safe work practice policies, procedures and requirements
  • Communicate area safety concerns to leadership
  • Follow safety and personal protective equipment (PPE) protocols while working on/around equipment
  • Communicate area safety concerns to leadership
  • Address safety and ergonomic issues on equipment and processes
