We are looking for a senior leader to be a part of this innovation and drive customer technical engagements in Storage and mNAND managing global teams.

 

This Leader will be a Director of Customer Quality Engineering and lead a global team of CQEs focused on providing technical expertise and value to our customers in Mobile, Enterprise, Cloud and Client Storage Solutions. The Director of CQE is a senior management role with expectations of thought and technical leadership. This person will interact with customers, senior and executive management building excellent technical partnerships and strategy setting for the team delivering on elite Customer Quality Engagements.

 

This position is based in Shanghai, China.

 

Qualifications:

 

The ideal candidate will have experience in one or more areas below

  • Strong understanding of the Mobile and Storage Market - from traditional enterprise storage to emerging trends in software defined storage, cloud and datacenter computing and storage, application driven innovations in memory and storage.
  • Strong Technical background in SSD development, validation and FW Architecture; experience in leading product development will be a benefit.
  • Strong understanding of Storage interfaces including ideally PCIe/NVMe, AHCI, SATA, SAS, UFS, eMMC
  • Experience with advanced NAND Flash and other Non-volatile storage devices.
  • Experience working with customers in evaluating customer requirements and driving technical engagements
  • Requires 10+ years working in semiconductor industry with 5+years people management experience
  • 5+ years in SSD development experience preferred, working in SSD hardware or firmware design, product engineering, failure analysis or manufacturing
  • 5+ years of experience with Quality processes and procedures preferred
  • Ability to work effectively in multi-functional team

 

Responsibilities include -

  • Build relationships with key decision makers in the customer’s BU and Engineering Organizations. Enable a relationship of trust and partnership with customers though technical excellence and responsiveness.
  • Foster cross-department collaboration to align customer technical support. Advise senior and executive management in relation to strategic decisions for technical customer support
  • Provide technical leadership with a thorough knowledge of Micron products, customer applications
  • Grow the technical strength of the Customer Quality Engineering organization in mNAND, client and data center SSD space
  • Lead problem-solving initiatives across the CQE organization with intent to improve response and customer quality as well as buffer internal organizations from customer involvement
  • Lead Customer Quality Engineers in supporting to achieve #1 Quality Rankings among a key customers cluster as determined by customer scorecards
  • Identify elite standards while highlighting gaps in product, process, and tools that are barriers to your team achieving the #1 position
  • Lead and optimize your team’s performance by ensuring their understanding and use of training tools, service strategies, customer metrics, and other business processes
  • Drive quality-related dedicated and reactive communication
  • Work closely with the customer to resolve their key concerns
  • Actively measure their satisfaction index to Micron’s Quality and project expected Quarterly Business Review (QBR) scores
  • Host monthly quality reviews and actively share Quality Health Assessment of customer products
  • Work with Quality Management System (QMS) team to set up standard customer audit reports to maximize efficiency
  • Champion “voice of customers” on quality within Micron
  • Actively communicate feedback from your customers to Micron functions
  • Lead customer audit
  • Conduct training at customer sites

 

Education Requirements

•            Bachelor of Science in materials science, electrical or mechanical engineering or equivalent required, Master’s degree preferred
