As the Director, Channel Business Development you will be responsible for driving channel demand for Micron’s Enterprise, Cloud, and Client product lines. This includes both building the strategy for and execution of new business initiatives and the corresponding channel/customer engagements and relationships that result in additional pipeline and revenue for the region.

This role requires a leader with a high motivations and strong interest in strategy, relationship sales, marketing, analytics, and business development. The emphasis is on driving new channel demand generation strategies and programs to, through and for channel partners in alignment with corporate objectives and strategies. Additionally, it is expected that this role engages with new strategic target accounts to build net new business and supports the local sales teams to drive additional business with existing accounts.

This role strongly collaborates with the regional sales and marketing teams and becomes the business and technical liaison between the region and the BU. Activities such as product training, speaking at industry events, help in creation of local marketing campaigns, and identifying new customer targets for the sales teams to engage with are all part of the day-to day responsibilities. Furthermore, it is expected that this role will provide customer feedback on roadmaps, product features, market trends and other requirements back into the BU.

This role will report into the Senior Director Storage Business Unit Operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Build and execute channel sales strategy to expand existing channel revenue and create net new revenue through customer acquisition
  • Closely collaborate with regional sales teams to drive channel revenue, identify new opportunities and execute on BU channel strategy
  • Support regional sales teams with customers that require technical/roadmap discussions and help them secure new product qualifications
  • Closely collaborate with regional marketing leads to drive effective marketing programs through local partners
  • Provide customer feedback to the product marketing team in the BU on product features, market trends and customer requirements
  • Expand customer base by identifying new customers, vertical markets and create new pipeline opportunities
  • Drive awareness that inform the channel partners of the latest technology, products, market trends, and use cases to help them grow their business
  • Increase channel sales team effectiveness through product training, joint customer visits and communication on use cases and design wins
  • Engage with relevant ecosystem partners in the region to drive awareness and develop joint new business


  • BS/BA degree or equivalent
  • MBA preferred
  • 15+ years’ experience in B2B business relationships, covering channel, Cloud and OEM customers in a widely dispersed geographical region
  • Proven track record for generating net new business
  • Technical knowledge of flash & memory technologies, SSD products, enterprise storage and client compute architectures
  • Preferred
  • Knowledge of channel market for Client and Enterprise SSD products
  • Proven success in driving new business and engaging channel partners to create new pipeline and revenue contribution
  • Knowledge of channel marketing to, through and for partners.
  • Strategic and analytical thinker with the ability to combine technology and business strategies to develop tailored channel and customer engagements
  • Ability to build effective and collaborative relationships with regional sales teams.
  • A flexible self-starter with the energy and growth mindset to create new strategies and drive execution as needed.
  • Hands-on approach to getting activities done.
