Job Description
As a Customer Systems Engineer at Micron Technology, Inc., you will be responsible for system-level failure analysis, characterization, and experimentation of customer systems. You will run and configure diagnostic software, design experiments, analyze and interpreting data, creating custom tools (Hardware and Software), presenting data to customers both inside and outside Micron. On occasion you may will carry out these responsibilities at customer locations. To accomplish these responsibilities, you will use a variety of equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, signal generators, multi-meters, etc.). You will work with other engineers within the Customer Systems Engineering Group, Field Application Engineering, Application Engineering, Product Engineering, Quality Assurance, and all business unit teams.

Responsibilities and Tasks
Mange Micron Product Qualifications with Internal and External Customers
  • Schedule qualifications and individual tests
  • Modify test scripts and code
  • Create and document test procedures
  • Analyze and compile test results
  • Provide report results to the external customer
Debug Micron Product Qualification Failures
  • Work with customers and memory enablers to attain design wins and qualifications of Micron memory products in their applications
  • Provide technical support to customers and the field sales force
  • Support includes applications advice, product recommendations, and technical problem resolution
  • Visit and/or contact memory enablers and production customers to deterring their needs for new products and/or features
  • Work with factory marketing and applications engineering to determine the feasibility of specific new products, packaging, or features
  • Provide product training to the field sales force, distribution sales people, customers, and enablers
  • Work with marketing and factory applications engineering to review and respond to product specifications and technical questionnaires submitted by customers
  • Identify and communicate the needed Marketing Communication literature (e.g., product guides, cross references, advertisements, etc.
  • Work with the Sales team to coordinate and manage the account relationship and drive design activities to maintain and grow existing business
Design and Implement Micron Product Qualification Automation
  • Create test scripts
  • Create and modify hardware that controls test parameters (i.e. temperature or voltage)
  • Interface customer diagnostics with pre-existing automation scheme
  • Interface with external customer
Perform Failure Analysis (FA)
  • Utilize diagnostics to reproduce the original failure
  • Identify failure mechanism
  • Collaborate with Product Engineering and Return Material Authorization (RMA)
  • Communicate findings with customer
Perform System Characterization
  • Use software, logic analyzers, oscilloscopes and other tools to understand memory usage
  • Develop software to interpret data
  • Collaborate with Product and Application Engineering
  • Communicate results

Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience
  • Engineering - Electrical
  • Related field of study
Additional Information:
Must have BA from a 4 year accredited university
