Job Description:

 

As DRAM Design Group CAD Engineer at Micron Technology, Inc., you will be working in a collaborative, production support role evaluating, developing enhancing and debugging both in-house and commercial Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools and flows for the physical layout and design of CMOS integrated circuits. You will work closely with the Design, Layout teams, supporting their use of electronic design automation tools and methodologies to increase design and layout productivity and work efficiency.

 

Responsibilities and Tasks

Develop Tools and Flows used in Circuit Design and Analysis, Physical Design, Functional and Physical Verification.

  • Understand requirements from Design;
  • Define the scope and implement solution;
  • Validate work based on defined requirements;
  • Provide training and support in the use of CAD Tools for users;
  • Monitor effectiveness and adjust as needed;
  • Integrate Commercial EDA Tools into Design Flows
  • Provide documentation;
  • Track and solve issues;

Undertake Independent Research and Development of Next-Generation CAD Software to Meet Product Development Needs

  • Identify deficiencies of current tools and flows
  • Understand (Electronic Design Automation) EDA industry product offerings and trends, and opportunities for gaining performance and efficiency
  • Evaluate tools with internal customers
  • Define possible flows for improvement of efficiency and cost
  • Coordinate with other Business Units

Develop, maintain and support the engineering infrastructure

  • Maintain all aspects of design infrastructure at optimum level;
  • Provide support and training of the design environment

 

Qualification:

  • Working knowledge of CMOS circuit and deep submicron physical design;
  • Familiar with CMOS process manufacturing and layout rules
  • Excellent programming fundamentals
  • Experience with Unix and shell scripting
  • Familiarity with Perl and/or Python
  • In depth experience in the Cadence Skill programming language and Cadence design environment
  • In depth experience in Calibre DRC & LVS flows;
  • In depth experience with design simulation tools such as ncverilog, VCS, fineSim, hsim, hspice;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Problem solving skills;
  • Fluent English skill in reading, writing and speaking
  • 3-5 years of related working experience

 

Education

BSEE or MSEE degrees needed. BS in computer science or related majors will also be considered
