This role is a key position to our sales organization. The Account Manager will directly engage our System Integrator (SI) accounts providing a variety of sales and support activities. This role requires daily interaction with specified accounts to negotiate pricing, provide product recommendations and generally represent Micron to the account. As a System Integration Account Manager you will be expected to have an intimate understanding of how to position and sell Micron storage and system memory within the assigned account base. You will also build and maintain key relationships in each account. You must have a strong understanding of key vendors and technologies in the ecosystem, especially the server space. This position will work in an assigned territory where engagement will include System Integration partners.

 

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Develop relationships at all levels within the SI account
  • Achieve or exceed assigned quarterly sales targets
  • Engage sales reps that are not selling Micron
  • Work internally to solve any issues on your accounts including any credit, finance, marketing or operational issues
  • Grow Micron awareness and preference within a named customer base
  • Help customer select appropriate products for their requirements
  • Understands the different workload requirements for specific applications to make storage recommendations
  • Be an authority on DRAM and SSD market pricing and understand when and how to seek better pricing
  • Respond to and follow up on RFP's, and bids and other customer requests
  • Work with operations to tackle any heightened issues
  • Provide pricing to your accounts on a regular basis
  • Be able to engage with product marketing and pricing teams to win projects
  • Monitor customer reports and track down any reporting needed for Micron programs
  • Build and maintain key relationships within each customers procurement, sales, marketing and senior management teams

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where you will cover multiple sales accounts
  • Self-starter who can balance their own workload but be part of a team
  • Willingness to engage people they don’t know over the phone or in person to drive relationships
  • Have a sense of urgency around taking care of the customer to resolve any issues
  • Capable of working under pressure with multiple tasks at any given time
  • Willing to “own their business” and drive towards a quarterly sales quota
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or related field
  • 2+ years’ experience in Sales
  • Strong background in technology
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of applications and the desire and ability to learn new applications as needed
