Staff Design Engineer

As a Staff Design Engineer in the Non-Volatile-Engineering NAND Flash design team at Micron Technology, Inc., you will work with and support the efforts of functional teams to innovate and evaluate key multi-functional features and architecture to assure outstanding memory products in terms of die size, performance, reliability, and power. In this role, you are encouraged to participate in the definition of the architecture and requirements and making sure all the validation plans meet them. You will also work closely with design team members during all phases of design from concept to production. In addition, you will actively participate in the design and quality methodology improvements across the department. You will also be responsible for assisting product engineers in post-silicon design validation, root cause analysis, and providing solutions.


Responsibilities and Duties include, but not limited to:


  • Identify and innovate new concepts and features based on customer requirements
  • Contributing to the development of new NAND Flash Memory by assisting with the overall design, layout, and optimization of Memory/Logic circuits
  • Drive multi-functional team in key features evaluation and recommend a decision on architecture
  • Define the architecture of the device and drive the completion of all Micro Architecture Specifications
  • Define the complete set of requirements for the device and manage them throughout all the design phases.
  • Leading all aspects of the full-chip verification activities including planning, tracking, and criteria setting
  • Map the validation plans to the requirements to ensure complete coverage of the design.
  • Proactively solicit guidance from Standards, CAD, modeling, and verification groups to ensure the design quality
  • Work closely with the Design Quality team to ensure all the metrics are met to qualify the device for various markets
  • Driving innovation into the future Memory generation with the multifaceted work environment

Qualifications and Skills include, but not limited to:


  • 5+ years of proven experience in storage products design and architecture
  • Degree/Major: BS, MS or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering (or related fields)
  • Broad knowledge and experience in storage products design and architecture is required
  • Ability to lead multi-functional teams in a project environment
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts in verbal and written form
  • Experience in the definition of Architecture Specs and Requirements
  • Proven knowledge of various logic, analog, and mixed-signal circuits
  • Knowledge of simulation tools and methodologies such as Verilog, UVM, XA, hspice, etc.
  • Passion for problem solving and teamwork
