Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

Segment Marketing is a highly strategic role in the Embedded Business Unit (EBU) at Micron. EBU is a fast-growing BU focused on serving customers that cut across various Embedded/IoT Segments. In this role, you will spearhead developing Consumer Segment specific business and go to market strategies in line with BU objectives, define future product roadmap requirements, develop application specific positioning and value proposition, and enable sales and BD teams in driving the business.

Consumer application segment includes application/devices like Set Top Box, Over-The-Top Streaming devices, DTV, Home Automation, Wearables, etc. Key activities include: analysis of the market, memory solution providers, technology trends, ecosystem and competitive landscape to provide key insight that influences decisions; Find, evaluate, develop & manage strategic partnerships; Ensure alignment of segment strategies and product strategies in line with EBU business objectives; Triangulate information from different sources and build cases for validating or invalidating current marketing strategies; Craft business/technical outbound collateral that help our FAE’s and sales teams to outsell the competition.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • You have in deep understanding and knowledge of the Consumer electronic devices business from market dynamics, customers (OEMs, ODMs), business and technology trends in focus applications.
  • You would have held prior position in marketing, system architecture or systems/applications engineering role with equipment OEMs or semiconductor vendors serving this market segment.
  • Shown ability to develop complex technical and business strategies and can take on technical/business problems with limited direction.
  • Consistent track record of working in a matrixed organization and ability to effectively influence multiple levels of sales, field and business unit marketing organization.

For this position, you will have:

  • Positive relationship, customer presence, strong communication, and presentation skills
  • Ability to analyze marketing data and understand macro and micro industry trends
  • Ability to understand technical/architectural requirements, be able to have a first level of application and system architecture specific dialog with customers
  • Skills to develop effective presentations, internal and external collaterals
  • Self-starter personality, with the ability to track multiple applications progress over time
  • Ability and willingness to travel, sometimes internationally, up to 20 percent of the time.
  • You posses a BS degree in Electronics or Computer Engineering with minimum 8 years experience in a job as a Business Development Manager, Technical Sales, Technical Marketing Engineer, Systems/Applications Engineer or related occupation -or- MBA with a minimum of 5 years experience in a job as a Business Development Manager, Technical Sales, Technical Marketing Engineer, Systems Engineer

Preferred Skills:

  • International business/customer engagement experience.
  • Prior knowledge of memory sub-systems (xRAM technologies and NOR/NAND flash memories).
  • Having a good network of contacts in the industry with meaningful Operators/MSOs, OEMs, chipset vendors, software vendors, industry analysts.
