Senior Category Supply Manager, IP and EDA

As an authority of IP (Intellectual Property), EDA (Electronic Design Automation), we are looking to you to oversee the category supplier strategies including performance management, negotiations and relationship management. You will partner with internal stakeholders to build a comprehensive view of supplier performance for continued sourcing success, understand market position of each supplier for specific IP, assess the financial stability of suppliers, and provide input and recommendations. You will be responsible for the development and implementation of category strategies and projects related but not limited to cost reduction initiatives, supply base optimization, and contract negotiation.

 

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Lead and build effective relationships with integrity, initiate and sustain effective communication with internal and external partners.
  • Ability to analyze spend data, internal requirements, and external supply markets to develop strategic sourcing strategies and plans aligned with the business goals.
  • Develop strong collaborative relationships with internal clients to strategically handle spend and the supply base for EDA, IP and capital category.
  • Act as procurement authority for 3rd party IP, EDA and Engineering Services. Develop and deploy standard methodology for procurement, category management and supplier management.
  • Negotiate, manage, coordinate, and support Engineering sourcing activities for services, identification, proposal analysis, review & clarification, contract knowledge, supplier performance management, supplier/customer conflict resolution.
  • Build and maintain relationship with a wide variety of internal organizations to understand current and future IP requirements to meet business objectives.
  • Provide recommendations to senior and executive management on strategic decisions to positively influence strategic direction.
  • Collaborates with Procurement Directors and other category suppler managers to coordinate approach to cross-category suppliers.
  • Prepare, redline and negotiate commercial contracts - services agreements, licenses, statements of work and amendments.
  • Lead, coordinate and support special projects as needed.
  • Ensure timely and cost-effective acquisition of products, services and equipment while driving contract compliance.
  • IP, EDA and capital items focal point for all the relevant Engineering and R&D organizations globally.
  • Communicate key supplier management updates and decisions to multiple levels in the organization.
  • Actively seek opportunities for process improvements.

 

Qualifications

Degree or equivalent experience at minimum:

  • BA/BS in Business Administration/Management or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience

Preferred qualifications:

  • 10+ years' experience in procurement of EDA / IP within the semiconductor.
  • Previous experience and innovative in developing business models and analytical in making sound recommendation based on benchmark data and business assessment.
  • An effective teammate and leader to drive successful procurement in balance of cost, value, risk, and timing. Experience successfully working in a matrix-oriented environment is critical.
  • Ability to work well in a high-paced, dynamic environment, handle multiple projects simultaneously, and ensure tasks are completed and deadlines are met.
