Director of Procurement for Silicon and Designs Solutions

As the Director, Procurement for our Silicon & Designs Solutions at Micron Technology Inc., you will oversee the global vision and management of the Foundry, ASIC and IC categories, as well as direct the respective Procurement members, to deliver value through development of procurement strategies, cost optimization, sourcing/supply management as well as strategic supplier relationships. You will commit to meeting Procurement performance goals and optimizing performance by collaborating with internal and external partners to build and execute global Procurement strategies aligned to corporate strategic objectives.


You will be responsible to establish/monitor performance metrics and oversee Procurement metrics to identify and implement continual improvement opportunities. You will collaborate with partners to deliver strategic solutions and align with all Procurement Directors to coordinate approach to cross-category vendors and key strategic suppliers. You will maintain close communication with suppliers and internal business partners to assure needs are addressed while fostering a customer-centric approach to solving issues and representing Procurement.


Other responsibilities include ensuring department compliance to company policies and regulations, as well as departmental procedures. You will provide leadership for building and implementing Global Procurement strategies, processes, and policy through active oversight of functional teams and projects, and mentor functional leaders through collaboration and the development of sustainably successful solutions. You will also be responsible for conveying corporate business initiatives, providing direction thereof, and driving a clear understanding of line of site within your team. Is this the role for you? Scope and responsibility

  • Lead a group of category supplier managers for foundry, ASIC, and IC purchasing, to oversee execution of sourcing/negotiation strategies.
  • Lead ASIC & IC allocation process together with partner and supplier engagement.
  • Drive supplier selection technology roadmap and business engagements, including pricing, business models, capacity, yield, and related supplier management aspects
  • You will maintain in-depth understanding of cost structures and “should cost” analysis for silicon or assembly packaging/test, including PPA (i.e., power, performance, area) with respect to process technology nodes to ensure optimal TCO for our products.
  • Maintain an insightful understanding of the evolving semiconductor industry. Maintain a high-level executive network with suppliers
  • Work closely with suppliers to make sure that their IC development programs are meeting our expectations and build our own portfolio for critical materials and suppliers.
  • Continue close interaction with business partners to ensure category-related needs are addressed.
  • Manage conflict and build effective relationships with internal and external partners.
  • Provide advice to senior and executive management on strategic decisions.


  • 15 or more years of experience in process integration/engineering and customer-supplier management in ASIC houses, Silicon Foundry or OSATs.
  • Experience in Foundry, Integrated Circuit cost structures, supplier management in design/ASIC houses
  • Experience negotiating complex business agreements.
  • Excellent understanding in semiconductor topics (e.g., technical, operations, commercial) and its macro-market landscape.

Education - Required

  • Bachelor's Degree (Master's Preferred) or equivalent experience
  • Business Administration/Management
  • Engineering
  • Related field of study


  • Professional Certification in related field (i.e. APICS, PMI)
