As a Non-Volatile Engineering (NVE) NAND Product Engineering Director of Product Development at Micron Technology, Inc., you will lead a forward-thinking team of engineers to solve complex problems. You will be responsible for setting the direction of product development in this highly visible and influential role and coordinating necessary resources across product priorities. As a Director, you will lead and develop a team of Product Development Engineers and Managers by mentoring, establishing goals, providing career development, and managing performance.

 

In this role, you will direct the development of a NAND product from pre-Silicon through performance/reliability optimization, design validation, qualification, and enablement of various system solutions. This role will work closely with technology development, device, design, test, quality, system development, and manufacturing teams. You will also act as a product-specific point of contact for executives, senior leadership, manufacturing, marketing and planning teams. Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

 

  • Drive NAND development to enable premier end products.
  • Set direction for Product Engineering organization related to product development and serve as an internal leader with vision in product development engineering.
  • Partner with NAND Technology Development, NAND Design, NAND Device, and System Development.
  • Develop and drive trim optimization and Key 3D NAND device performance and reliability metrics from concept to first silicon through qualification.
  • Direct the validation and optimization of the NAND design.
  • Provide clear, regular communication of engineering product development priorities, challenges, and status across the broader organization and network, including leadership and business organizations.
  • Directly manage and champion a product development engineering team, routinely provide mentorship on career development in your team and regularly conducting performance management and engagement activities.
  • Ensure programs are aligned with customers’ current and future needs and expectations.
  • Prioritize and set tactical expectations across a set of development activities under direct management and navigate priorities with other directors across the NAND portfolio.
  • Have strategic and operational impact across multiple sites, globally.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • Validated experience applying extensive knowledge of Product Engineering, Product Development, and trim development and NAND performance/reliability optimization to set strategy and execute development of NAND products.
  • Experience applying broad knowledge of business to set strategy for a function, sub-function or site.
  • Experience using advanced written and oral presentation English communication skills to mitigate risk to the business and resolve sensitive or difficult issues.
  • Ability to make quick decisions in complex situations.
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong Project management, delegation, and priority setting skills.
  • Extensive experience leading and developing a distributed product development engineering team.
  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • At least 10 years of experience in semiconductor memory development and, at least 3-5 years of experience in:
    • 3D NAND Product Development
    • NAND Product optimization for Performance, Power, and Reliability
    • Trim and algorithm optimization
    • Design Validation
    • Cell and array characterization
  • Good working knowledge in statistics and probability
  • Travel Required: 15%
