Director, ASIC Pre & Post Silicon Validation Engineering Leader

Micron is seeking a Director, ASIC Pre & Post Silicon Validation Engineering Leader for Micron’s ASIC team. In this role, you will be responsible for leading FPGA validation and ASIC validation in our storage-based controllers. You should have a solid understanding and proven hands-on experience with many aspects of SSD SOC, FPGA, Silicon bring-up and validation, Storage host systems – including PCIe/NVMe, DDR, ONFI interfaces.  Very good system vision and product-level understanding is required for this role. In this role, you will need to be highly motivated with strong communication skills, attention to detail, and be quality-oriented. Candidates with a take-ownership attitude will succeed in this role.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead FPGA validation before tapeout & Post Silicon validation
  • Crafting detailed FPGA and ASIC validation list to test all SSD design aspects
  • Handle all different kind of storage host systems to test FPGA and ASIC
  • Co-development validation FW code with verification team to test ASIC ahead of production firmware.
  • Closely working with Firmware team, SoC & IP design team, verification team.
  • Lead activities of other functional teams participating in entire ASIC development flow and reviewing their work
  • Supporting product teams with documentation, providing Initial code to Firmware team, and silicon debug
  • Continuously finding opportunities for improving validation quality

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in Engineering
  • 10+ years of ASIC & FPGA validation experience
  • Broad knowledge in all aspect of ASIC & FPGA validation flow and proven experience with leading chip validation from development to volume production
  • Knowledge and experience in various aspects of Host systems, Digital IPs and SOC design, and Firmware code.
  • Scripting and Unix shell language experience: e.g. Perl, Python, Unix shell scripts
  • Preferred Skills:
  • Experience in NAND based storage products (e.g. SSD, PCIe, NVMe, eMMC, UFS, USB)
  • Various systems (Exerciser, Oakgate, Supermicro, Intel & AMD chipset, HAPS board)
  • PCIe/NVMe Enterprise features (Dual Port, SRIOV, SGL, T10 DIF/DIX, CMB)
