Micron has a unique opportunity to deliver disruptive Artificial Intelligence (AI) solutions into the market.  We are looking for a marketing leader who will lead Micron’s AI business strategy and execution, define the solution that we build and customers/segments we target, drive market adoption, and lead a small team of high performing individuals with startup mindset.  We are looking for a candidate who is genuinely excited about the AI market and driving customer appreciated solutions into the edge inference segment. An experienced AI product and marketing leader with a can-do attitude and a passion for creating disruptive new business.

 

While leading a direct focused business team, you will work very closely with the engineering team on defining and prioritizing solution attributes, developing and delivering the overall business and resourcing plan, and executing to it with the engineering organization. You will also play a key role in engaging with industry technology partners, top tier customers and the ecosystem to develop and execute the strategy and evangelize Micron AI solutions. You will also work with other Micron businesses on use case development and necessary strategy and go-to-market orchestration. This is a unique leadership role with high visibility across Micron.

 

Preference will be given to candidates who can demonstrate in depth understanding of semiconductor solution-oriented AI market and competitive landscape, understand of the development frameworks and solution stack, and ecosystem enablement. Strong background with inference solutions including SDKs, compilers and accelerator feature sets is preferred. Successful candidates will be able to think strategically and will have a proven track record of being able to execute efficiently. Strong communication and high responsiveness is necessary.  

 

 

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Work with customers, technical teams, and other internal stakeholders to build and articulate the product vision, including customer value proposition, business and go to market strategy for Edge Inference Solutions product line.
  • Evaluate market opportunity and business impact in various end-markets. Interact with customers and partners to establish and prioritize markets and solution requirements at chip, board/hardware, software, tools, and ecosystem level.
  • Direct responsibility for defining Minimum Viable Product and managing customer expectations and engineering execution towards that. Develop and drive the roadmap and associated business case.
  • Understand clear competitive positioning, analyze competitive strategies, and develop Micron counter strategies to achieve business objectives.
  • Work with customers and partners on joint development strategies as appropriate, structure and manage those programs. Experience in working with legal and partners on commercial contracts.
  • Responsible for customer pipeline, business development, and sales engagement as and when necessary. Responsible for marcom and PR strategies and execution. Leverage bigger Micron infrastructure of sales and marketing in line with business needs.
  • Direct responsibility to work with Micron senior executive leadership on regular strategy and business progress reviews, addressing growth and/or course correction needs as relevant.
  • Hire and manage marketing and customer facing solutions engineering resources, scale the organization as necessary to meet business growth needs and manage performance of the overall organization and business.  
  • Create an effective and efficient internal organization with direct and indirect resources, with a startup culture and mindset to drive disruption in the market and create a new exciting business for Micron.   


Required and Preferred Skills:

  • Excellent executive and customer facing communication skills. Ability to clearly articulate, create succinct presentations and communicate with subject matter expertise and passion.
  • Required prior experience in AI market with deep understanding of the market landscape and customer needs and mindset. Experience with Edge and IoT markets is a plus.
  • Sufficient technical depth and experience as a business leader to be able to understand and convince internal and external stakeholders on solution attributes and priorities. Experience working with microprocessors, GPUs or other AI solutions at full stack level is preferred. 
  • Excellent organization skills and experience working with distributed teams.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to motivate the team. Prior experience in managing small teams is preferred.
  • Ability to make hard choices and decisions in a timely manner.
  • A good industry network of partners and customers is a plus.
  • Prior startup experience in relevant domains is a plus.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Degree in Science, IT, or Business. Master's or MBA is preferred
  • Prior experience in AI related industry and semiconductor or software led products
  • 12+ years of marketing or product management experience with business accountability
  • 7+ years of experience in management and delivery of complex hardware and software solutions
