PEE3 Dry Etch Intern

§Title: Optimization of Waferless Clean and Conditioning on Carbon Etch process
§Description: After every wafer processing in the Dry Etch process chamber, a sequence of clean and chamber wall conditioning is executed to prevent defects and improve process repeatability. The amount of clean using Oxygen and Flourine based plasma needs to be optimized to balance between inefficient and over cleaning. Similarly, the amount of conditioning on wall surface requires optimization as it affects the subsequent product wafer processing stability. In this project, students will have the hands-on opportunity to work on advanced industry-leading Etch Tool and work with Process and Equipment Engineering team regarding process development and process control methodology used in production environment.
§Scope: Perform process characterization for Waferless Clean process on a Carbon Etch tool. Student will be able to learn how to use statistical tools, fab-specific applications and software for operations, datamining; as well as perform Design of Experiment (DOE) to optimize the process/equipment.
§Deliverable: Characterization data on the different parameters of Waferless Clean process, finding the optimum condition for process stability.
