Job Description:

As Industrial Engineering Manager, you are responsible for supervising and developing a team to ensure effective capacity modeling and industrial engineering within the site. You will partner with BE Central Planning and Supply Chain to continuously optimize site response to Network requirements and drive improvement in business processes within the site to support business objectives.

In this role you will be responsible for developing operating plans for site production groups for long term and working with production groups to ensure that dispatch and scheduling are directed to optimize results for the network.

You will be interfacing with internal and external stakeholders to identify resources required to support the plan and follow up on actions to close identified gaps.

Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Assess existing capacity and develop operational plans and forecasts based on future plan for demand
  • Responsible for capacity planning and for development of these services in the organization
  • Lead capacity planning activities ensuring delivery against operational requirements and which optimize manufacturing efficiency and costs
  • Refine systems and methods to continually improve plans so that the organization can better anticipate customer needs
  • Responsible for Equipment budgeting, Equipment & tooling (CAPEX & OPEX) Purchase.
  • Accountable for the Production floor Layout planning and equipment delivery and qualifications by working with engineering teams.
  • Accountable to perform time study on the Process to update the Processing times accurately in the Capacity modeling system and be able to perform simulations on the loading strategy.
  • Mange the Head Count Planning, Man Machine Ratio for Manufacturing team.  
  • Monitor key manufacturing processes for capacity and demand, identify capacity constraints and provide analysis.
  • Implementing and improving planning and shop floor scheduling processes within the site            
  • Maintain Master Data and capacity constraints.
  • Ensure accuracy of manufacturing supply commits.
  • Interface with Supply Chain/BE Central Planning/Purchasing/Production on plans, changes and expedites.               
  • Provide inputs and participate for network optimization and long-term strategy discussions
  • Align and build site metrics with BE Central Planning, monitor performance to plan and metrics, and identify improvement opportunities
  • Interface with other site planning groups on cross site processing
  • Collaborating with other sites in Industrial engineering projects.

 

 

 

People Management

 

  • Manage, coach and develop a high performing team that meets agreed objectives, delivers best practice results and works to make continuous improvements
  • Set department objectives/KPIs and review ways in which to enhance the performance of the capacity planning department and add value
  • Report of achievement of targets and identify any actions required.
  • Ensure that the function operates in accordance with any health, safety and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of self, staff and visitors. Financial Budget and Control
  • Input and hold responsibility for Capacity Planning budgets.

 

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Management                                        

 

Experience/Qualifications:

               

  • Minimum 7 years of working experience or more and at least 3 years on a Management role.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the worldwide factory network functions. 
  • Good leadership skill in mentoring and managing the performance of team members.    
  • Effective communication through multiple levels of the organization.      
  • Excellent Project management skills.      
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good analytical, communication, interpersonal and decision-making skills with strong interest to work in a dynamic environment  
  • An understanding of Manufacturing Science (scheduling, inventory management, capacity planning, lean manufacturing, etc.)
