Job Description

As a Sr Payroll Specialist at Micron Technology Inc., you will responsible to generate the company payroll, including labor distribution records, vacation and sick leave accrual, overtime, and withholding status. You will be accountable for Payroll service delivery and expected to meet government reporting requirements for payroll taxes, withholding, and employer contributions.


Responsibilities and Tasks

Manage the Exit Process

· Capture, approve, evaluate and transfer time and attendance records

· Verify time data for accuracy

· Process time off, leave and vacation pay out for terminated employees

· Gather all information for separation from local HR areas (such as Relocation and Education Assistance)

· Work with HR Service Center, Employee Relations and Finance when an employee owes monies

· Run team member’s final payroll

· Process Severance Payments for separated employees

 

Audit Pre- and Post-Payroll Activities

· Run reports (pre and post) for various HR areas for review

· Analyze payroll results for accuracy

· Perform documented controls (such as SOX, FLSA)

· Provide Finance and third-party vendors payroll data on a regular cadence (weekly, monthly, annually)

 

Maintain Oversight of Payroll Processes

· Initiate the live payroll process

· Research, notify, and fix errors

· Create checks, generate and transmit ACH file to the bank

· Submit wire transfer to bank and send back-up information to Treasury

· Notify Payroll Tax Accountant of payroll output (direct deposit amounts/wire amount)

· Participate in the third-party vendor-payment process

 

Validate Positive Pay Information with Third Party Vendor

· Communicate and educate leaders, and team members, on Payroll related activities

· Identify and troubleshoot customer reported errors

· Provide resolution to customers

· Build relationships, and credibility, with Micron team members and supervisors

· Maintain on-going relationships with other Departments (i.e. Accounting, Treasury, other HR Departments)

 

Manage Internal and External Relationships

· Communicate and educate leaders and team members on Payroll-related activities

· Identify and troubleshoot customer reported errors

· Provide resolution to customers

· Build relationships, and credibility, with Micron team members and supervisors

· Maintain on-going relationships with other Departments (i.e., Accounting, Treasury, other HR Departments)

 

Maintain Payroll Data and Systems

· Troubleshoot system errors, evaluate impacts and correct errors

· Collaborate with internal partners for resolution

· Receive, evaluate and process system or data change requests

· Perform system testing to ensure data integrity

· Escalate issues to appropriate party(s), as needed

· Validate issue resolution

 

Process Time and Attendance Records through the Payroll System

· Capture, approve, evaluate and transfer time and attendance records (hour/wage types)

· Verify time data for accuracy

· Contact the local HR department or manager to correct errors

 

Requirement

Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience in business, HR or Finance
Minimum 5 years experience in any of the following:

· Payroll

· Tax

· Finance

· Related Field

SAP knowledge is a bonus

 

Working Location: Malaysia, Penang, Batu Kawan
