Facilities Engineer - Process Utilities


As a Facilities Engineer in Micron, the incumbent is responsible to manage and maintain all process gases and water systems (de-ionized water system and wastewater treatment system) operation. Candidate also needs to supervise the tool installation to achieve continual improvement to system robustness, reliability and efficiency with the necessary guidance and direction from Facilities organization, to achieve facilities department, site, facilities corporate and company goals. The scope included and is not limited to the following:



  • Manage daily operation and maintenance of all gas supply and detection systems on site including bulk specialty gas installations off site.
  • Support, coach and guide technicians in operation & maintenance, troubleshooting, etc.
  • Manage daily gas inventory (call off, consumption tracking, expiry etc.)
  • Responsible for the operation of De-ionized Water Plant and Waste Water Treatment Plant and facilities maintenance.
  • Assist facility budget preparation, investment, new machine installation, project work and energy & water conservation program.
  • Review predictive and preventive maintenance of the system for continuous improvement together with Operation & Maintenance team.
  • Evaluate and review system operation/design to reduce cost and improve system reliability.
  • Interface with Engineering, Operation, environment, Health & Safety (EHS) team for equipment, preventative/correction maintenance program and projects compliance with various regulatory procedures.
  • Ensure good documentation (hardcopy and softcopy) of facilities system and support during Audit.
  • Support design reviews for base build systems and ensure specifications are met and cost reduction improvements are identified.
  • Work with internal, external customers, consultants and government agency pertaining to chemical and gases system improvement programs/projects where necessary.
  • Adhere to company environmental safety health, security policy and procedure, standard operating procedure with risk assessment, good housekeeping standard and quality policy when performing work.
  • Understand tool install drawing and schedule to coordinate and communicate tool install expectation with team, trade contractors and tool vendors with regular working interaction in a respectful manner.
  • Plan and execute facilities system utilities commissioning works after tool installation completion. Perform the exhaust test and balancing for process tools commissioning.
  • Perform tool utilities consumption measurement. Tabulate data accurately for utilities consumption tracking. 




Job Requirements:


  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering or relevant field with 1-2 years of relevant Facilities working experience.
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations and testing methods are desirable.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently, and have excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Basic computer skills preferably in Microsoft office and relevant knowledge on other computer systems likes SAP (system application product).
  • Possess basic AutoCAD knowledge is preferable.
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems and address root causes.
  • Team oriented with a strong focus on effective team dynamics.
