Job Responsibilities

As a Global Learning and Development Specialist at Micron Technology, Inc., you will create a learning environment where team members are inspired to grow, empowered to learn and connected to resources and opportunities to enable personal growth and performance. You will provide advice to the Malaysia (Penang and Muar) business stakeholders to identify and recommend solutions to close performance gaps and increase business value. You will lead the deployment of learning initiatives in Malaysia and will also have the opportunity to design, develop, deploy and evaluate global training solutions, to build team member capability, with the focus in areas of Onboarding, Soft Skills development, and Leadership development.


Design, Develop, and Evaluate for Learning and Development solutions that Incorporate Best Practices to Effectively Address Organization’s Learning and Development (L and D) Objectives and Needs 

  • Identify learning objectives, performance outcomes, and assessment strategies to deliver quality learning solutions
  • Provide thought leadership in design and development and provide coaching and consultation to internal partners, and/or outside vendors or contractors on design projects
  • Ensure the creation and curation of content is appropriately matched to instructional objectives, organizational needs, desired performance outcomes, and assessment strategy
  • Design content structures for blended solutions, e-Learning courseware, instructor-led and virtual classroom, video, virtual simulations, and performance support tools
  • Develop instructional materials (presentations, assessments, tutorials, job aids, reference guides, instructor guides, audio and video scripts, story boards)
  • Evaluate solution effectiveness according to critical levels of evaluation for initial deployments and through routine reviews

    Serve as an Internal Facilitator for Onboarding, General Business, Soft Skills Development and Leadership development

  • Partner with Learning and Development Program Managers to organize, promote, and facilitate learning initiatives and programs that are aligned with organizational objectives
  • Oversee the logistical aspects of solution delivery, including scheduling classes, monitoring request/enrollment levels, reserving training rooms, procuring materials, and maintaining participant completion statuses
  • Monitor inventories and provide budget requests for program materials used during facilitation
  • Recruit and mentor adjunct instructors to conduct learning for global course offerings; routinely evaluate instructor performance and provide feedback to stakeholders (adjunct instructors, program managers, and related leadership)
  • Monitor surveys and other evaluations to measure learning and performance as a result of learning initiatives        

Enhance Learning and Development Solutions and Delivery through Collaborative Engagement with L and D Partners and Business stakeholders

  • Lead and participate in a Learning and Development facilitation community of practice
  • Establish and improve processes and standards for effective facilitation and instructional design
  • Provide facilitation and instructional design consultation and mentorship for the Global Learning and Development community
  • Participate in content and quality assurance reviews for training interventions to ensure relevancy or to improve effectiveness


Manage the Global L and D systems, programs, processes, and standards

  • Serve as the administrator for the learning management system to maintain, troubleshoot and manage systems related enquiries
  • Develop and manage programs, processes and standards, including identifying gaps and improvements
  • Manage metrics, targets and measures



  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent
  • At least 5 years of learning and development experience 
  • Team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated, possess initiative and ability to work independently
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills
  • Experience in Adult Learning, facilitation, instructional design and learning advisory


Travel required occasionally within Malaysia, when needed
