As an Embedded Business Unit (EBU) Automotive Senior System Applications Engineer at Micron Technology, Inc. and its subsidiaries, you will provide technical expertise and value to customers who integrate company products with their own. Your assignments are focused on the understanding how the Operative Systems actually interact with Micron memories and include the interpretations of customer designs, applications, and service information as well. You will typically interact with Component Application Engineer (AE) and, on need basis, with sales team, manufacturing, and marketing personnel; Part of your job will be to make or assist in technical presentations, demonstrations, and customer training. You may work through some phases of customer interaction including customer analysis, design implementation and product.

 

Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Provide prompt system level technical support on any customer opportunities or issues raised by the Component AE and FAE, Sales, or EBU teams
  • Develop a detailed and steadily increasing knowledge of how the products interact with main OSs (Linux, QNX, Windows)
  • Know and communicate OS features support differences for the assigned product(s).
  • Provide design-win and design-in support to Component AE and FAE’s/customers as needed
  • Provide failure analysis system level debug support for AE & FAE’s/customers
  • Work with engineering teams or other BU AE’s when necessary for product debug, testing, and/or FW system validation

 

System Validation

  • Define and develop system level tests to be deployed to SCG team, Development Teams and WW System Labs
  • Develop advance debug techniques to be used for system level analyses and troubleshooting

 

Develop and Deliver Technical Training

  • The System AE is expected to teach the Component AE, the FAE as much as the they can absorb during each customer engagement, with the desire that the Component AE and FAE can support similar issues independently in the future (dependent on the bandwidth and the product competence of each of them)
  • Provide system level training and system level guidance as needed on EBU products and roadmap strategies in support of generating new business

 

Support in the Product Definition Phase

  • Provide inputs for System Level technical aspects of the product definition to Component AE and to Component/System Architects.
  • Provide all technical documentation for new or modified products
  • Develop Migration guide and Application Notes with focus into the memory integration and optimization into to OS
  • Oversee or develop of necessary software required on schedule (before product sample delivery, or sooner as needed)

 

Qualifications:

Required

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in relevant field (e.g. Computer Science, Software Development; Engineering or Physics...) with 5+ years of experience
  • Excellent C language development skills
  • Basic Knowledge of Linux Device Drivers
  • Fluent English language capability
  • Good team player and communication skills
  • Self-education and self-development
  • Willing and able to travel to various international locations

 

Nice to Have

  • JTAG debugging experience
  • SW/HW debugging techniques
  • Experience with bootloader, driver development and BSP development (e.g. Yocto)
