The Procurement Chief of Staff (CoS) at Micron Technology, Inc. works with procurement leaders to develop strategy and drive implementation/value creation through coordination of activities and communication within the procurement organization and facilitating alignment with our Micron stakeholder groups.  The Chief of Staff reports directly to the CPO and will fill a variety of roles including administrator, gatekeeper, counselor, implementer, and proxy for the CPO depending on the circumstance or project.  Key responsibilities include messaging and communication, facilitation of procurement strategy development, management of the central procurement operating budget, tracking and driving staff level action items, messaging and communication, facilitation of cross department meetings, and ownership of the talent development program.

 

The Chief of Staff must be must be a creative, energetic, and results driven thinker, highly organized, an excellent problem solver, and have a high level of interpersonal and communication skills.

 

 

Procurement Chief of Staff (Director) Responsibilities

 

  • Facilitates strategic planning process for procurement ensuring alignment of procurement initiatives to the company strategy
  • Builds network internally and externally to ensure stakeholder alignment on key issues
  • Develops and owns corporate procurement budget
  • Owns Vision, Mission, STEERS reporting, annual/multi-year plans (rep. for corp. strategy)
  • Coordinates and prepares content for procurement cross functional team report outs to stakeholders (annual and quarterly commit, Quarterly Goals, GO Summits, QBR, BoD, etc.)
  • Tracks and drives completion of action items from stakeholder meetings (Global Operations, Corporate Strategy, Manufacturing, Planning/Huddle, Supplier Quality)
  • Establishes agenda, schedules, and facilitates procurement strategy development and regular review meetings.  Tracks and drives progress against plan.
  • Owns talent development program and capability building in procurement
  • Assists CPO on message development and implements internal procurement communication (monthly newsletter, org updates, pass down messages, etc.)
  • Facilitates and coordinates all hands meetings, CPO staff meetings, offsite staff meeting, GPLT, GP Ops, and celebrations
  • Prepares presentations and backup materials for exec report outs including data collection, notes, key points, storyline, etc.
  • Owns supplier event coordination
  • Assists CPO in organization change management
