Field Sales Manager

As part of the sales team, you will work with the Micron Business Units to develop our Channel Partnerships. Relationships will range from C-staff executive management, technical and field sales team. In this role, you will develop a communications network that will provide essential information to increase sales through distribution as well as direct to Micron. As well as, drive demand creation programs for Micron products and technologies for SSD and DRAM. The Field Sales Manager is responsible for driving the business results by leading the overall activities of the department including the directing, advising, and managing of direct and indirect team members to ensure strong team member and team performance.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Own sales and marketing plans and activities with the commercial channel partners in North America. Includes goal setting, performance management, implementation and execution of channel programs and initiatives.
  • Drive the channel account plan and communicate Micron's strategies and roadmap.
  • Develop a keen understanding of Micron's business practices including pricing, forecasting, terms and conditions always adhering to Micron’s code of ethics.
  • Lead and mentor the Micron commercial channel team.
  • Develop an in-depth knowledge of the assigned markets, drive a high level of engagement partnering with distributors and channel partners to identify and win new memory opportunities.
  • Focus on field resource engagement and deployment through arranging business reviews and customer actions follow-up.
  • Direct and indirect sales forecasting activities to signal demand and set performance goals accordingly.
  • Reviews market analyses to resolve customer needs, price schedules, and discount rates.
  • Lead channel development and coordinates sales activity by establishing sales territories, quotas, and sales goals.
  • Delivers sales presentations to key customers in conjunction with the efforts of Channel account managers.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of sales and/or marketing experience in commercial distribution in the electronics industry.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
  • Strong teammate with a high degree of flexibility and a growth mind set
  • Ability to turn data into action and generate results using time management and prioritization skills.
  • Good understanding of customer/application needs relative to market trends, competition, pricing and supply requirements. Fully aware of the needs and trends in the related marketplace and capable in driving differential sales strategies and execution
  • Fundamental market knowledge and channel programs experience.
  • Excellent knowledge of IT Channel business model.
  • Strong sales skills and customer orientation.
  • Financial and business acumen.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience successfully managing demand creation, customer intimacy and people management.
  • High motivation and competitive drive to succeed in challenging and constantly evolving environments
  • Ability to successfully work with remote teams, customers and partners.
  • Ability to work across multiple functional groups within company: sales, finance, logistics, sourcing, purchasing, marketing.
  • Ability to prioritize opportunities with the best return on investment
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 50% of the year through North America markets
  • Excellent English skills, both oral and written.
