MTV Facilities Engineering Manager is responsible for managing the department including design, engineering and project controls. Directing and overseeing assigned systems planning and engineering and design for construction and remodels to existing buildings, production line layout and tool installs, utility capacity planning, space planning, building code compliance and building permitting support.

Provide mid to long term infrastructure planning, capital budgeting and Facilities project execution. Designs and develops organizational policies relevant to the facilities department. May have responsibility for establishing and leading all aspects of health and safety standards. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function. Ensures adherence to building codes and company facility standards. May develop criteria and performance specifications for equipment to meet operating requirements and building and safety codes Advises on how to best meet schedules and resolve technical issues.

This critical-level position will be at Micron’s Northern Virginia facility in Manassas, where Micron will invest $3 billion dollars to expand production. As part of the expansion, Micron will establish a global research and development center in Manassas for memory and storage solutions primarily focused on the automotive, industrial and networking markets.


Department Management:

  • Identify manage and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for the department
  • Sets Facility Engineering goals based on the site and facilities areas of focus and provides direction for each department.
  • Oversee site planning, building code and regulatory compliance, and the engineering support for the day-to-day operation and maintenance of equipment, systems and structures used to support MTV.

  • Conducting studies and "what ifs" to determine potential opportunities.
  • Leading all aspects of all facility systems capacity tracking and projections, recommending upgrades as required.
  • Articulate compelling and inspiring visions and strategies.

Performance Management

  • Build an environment of motivation to foster team members engagement to the fullest of their potential.
  • Develop a succession management strategy and periodically conduct talent reviews within department.
  • Advocate a performance management culture, monitoring the use of the performance management system within the department.
  • Ensure that department learning and development opportunities are identified and fulfilled.

Strategic Leadership

  • Remain current on business and industry knowledge; current and possible future polices, practices and trends.
  • Provide ideas and recommendations to site leadership on department initiatives.
  • Create competitive and innovative strategies and plans.
  • Identify, understand and mitigate risk before making critical decisions.

Program Management

  • Drive a culture of project management within the department.
  • Prioritize and approve projects to align with MTV’s areas of focus.
  • Manage, measure and monitor projects to ensure deliverables and time frames are met.

Cost Management

  • Set aggressive quarterly department budget that aligns with site goals.
  • Assumes full responsibility for planning, budgeting, executing, and delivering results.
  • Manage, measure and monitor costs within your department.

Quality Management

  • Set quarterly department quality goals that align with site and corporate goals.
  • Manage, measure and monitor quality within your department.
  • Promote a quality conscious culture within the sphere of influence.
  • Drive innovative, strategic solutions for quality improvement.
  • Analyze and improve critical business processes utilizing the quality management system framework.
  • Ensuring quality of design produced and as-builts are maintained for your areas of discipline.


  • Engineering Degree or equivalent


  • 5 or more years in Facility Engineering Leadership
