As a Senior Shift Equipment Technician in the CMP group, you are responsible for monitoring, sustaining, and improving the equipment in your assigned area. This is done in conjunction with the production and process personnel. Shift equipment technicians monitor tool performance, schedule and perform preventative maintenance on assigned tool sets, and use mechanical, electronic and PC/software skills to troubleshoot and repair equipment while operating under the constant pressure inherent to a lean production facility. Senior technicians are expected to have responsibilities operationally, tactically, and strategically. Their performance expectations go beyond the work on the equipment itself. 

 

Role and Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate intermediate troubleshooting skills for area equipment
  • Leverage existing education, training, and experience to complete assigned tasks
  • Independently investigate the root cause of improperly functioning equipment
  • Have thorough understanding of your assigned area’s documented procedures, processes, and methods having to do with the maintenance and repair of equipment
  • Take responsibility for revising, updating or changing documentation to improve area execution
  • Work in conjunction with equipment engineers to perform modifications to existing equipment hardware and test the performance of the result
  • Utilize any specialized tools provided for use on the equipment the assigned area is responsible for
  • Properly and systematically document and communicate all executed work
  • Understand and be responsible for all metrics tied to equipment performance, maintenance, and repair
  • Understand area production processes and how a change in equipment conditions can affect those processes
  • Properly prioritize work to meet the needs of stakeholders
  • Utilize specialized computer hardware or software to accomplish relevant tasks
  • Elevate your areas performance and processes through CIP projects
  • Represent as a subject matter expert in meetings pertaining to the assigned area
  • Act as a trainer to less experienced team members
  • Successfully work in both team and individual roles
  • Demonstrate basic meeting skills and proper meeting etiquette
  • Adhere to all established safety policies and procedures

 

Qualifications

  • Must have 5 continuous years of direct hands-on experience working on semiconductor manufacturing equipment and peripheral support systems.
