Process Technician

Job Summary

 As a Shift Process Technician, you are accountable for monitoring, sustaining, and improving the process workstation performance in your assigned area. This is done in conjunction with the production and equipment personnel. Shift process technicians monitor workstation performance, manage detrimental issues and/or deviated processes, and make incremental changes to influence the flow of in-progress product through their assigned areas. You are responsible for keeping processes in the production line running at optimal efficiency while operating under the constant pressure inherent to a lean production facility.

 

Role and Responsibilities:

 

  • Monitor the operation of area tools
  • Acquire a foundational understanding of the semiconductor fabrication process with perspective for your assigned area
  • Learn and demonstrate the necessary technical knowledge to understand the processes of the assigned area
  • Leverage existing education, training, and experience to complete assigned tasks
  • Understand and follow your assigned area’s documented procedures, processes, and methods having to do with process and workstation performance
  • Identify process causes to production issues or equipment failures and help design resolutions
  • Properly and systematically document and communicate all executed work
  • Understand and be responsible for all metrics tied to workstation performance and work-in-progress (WIP) flow
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the up and down stream production processes and how a change in workstation performance can affect those processes
  • Properly prioritize work to meet the needs of stakeholders
  • Learn and utilize specialized computer hardware or software to accomplish relevant tasks
  • Demonstrate basic meeting skills and proper meeting etiquette
  • Successfully work in both team and individual roles
  • Adhere to all established safety policies and procedures\

 

Qualifications

  • The ability and willingness to be flexible to work any shift and rotate shifts as needed
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in data extraction, analysis and reporting
  • Basic PC skills including MS Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of semiconductor equipment and processes
  • Basic understanding and proper application of statistical process control principles
  • Basic understanding of mathematical concepts and problem solving at least into an algebraic level
  • Basic understanding of physics and chemistry concepts and principles.
