As a Process Integration (PI) engineer at Micron Technology, Inc., Manassas, you will be part of the PI group responsible for driving yield and product quality improvement, enabling manufacturing needs, and introducing products and technologies to the fab. In this role, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Owning a portion of product manufacturing process flow or specific projects during the yield ramp and sustaining in Fab 6.
- Working closely with process team to ensure process is set up properly to match sister Fab for inline and end-of-line results, improving process control, improving yields to enable Bench Mark yield curves and to optimize process flow for best product performance, highest quality at lowest cost.
- Setting up engineering experiments, monitoring progress of changes, and analysis of results.
- Maintaining or creating detailed documentation of product/process information including lessons learned, characterizations, risk assessment, etc.
- Working closely with inline defect detection, yield enhancement, product engineering, quality and reliability, and probe/test groups.
- Working closely with production, planning and change control teams on proper planning and execution of all manufacturing related changes.
- Using project management to ensure timely completion of projects.
- Constantly publishing module updates and/or key project status updates.
- Working to achieve win-win situations within team and with external customers.
- Understanding how to access historic word wide process change and BKM information.
- Working closely with sister sites and local engineering teams to identify product matching and process alignment issues during all phases of product life and drive for solutions.
- This position does not involve direct managerial powers or hiring and firing authority.
Qualifications:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Effective priority-setting.
- Self-motivated with strong problem solving and analytical skills.
- Understanding of semiconductor process flows.
- Knowledge of semiconductor device physics, CMOS, flash memory electrical operation, and Probe/Test flow a plus.
- Knowledge of statistical methods to perform data analysis.
- Knowledge and experience with statistical process control (SPC).
- Knowledge of Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
- Understanding of inline defect detection and failure analysis techniques.
- Understanding of problem solving methodologies such as 8D, Kepner-Tregoe and Six Sigma.
- Knowledge in various semiconductor metrology, inspection, and parametric test methods.
- Understanding of manufacturing environments.
- Must be willing/able to work weekends or evenings as needed.
- Ability to travel as needed.
Education/Experience Requirements:
Degree Required: B.S. or equivalent foreign education; or equivalent experience, will consider Masters.
Academic Discipline(s): Materials Science, Electrical, Electronics, or Chemical Engineering; or Physics; or related field.
